i met someone today, seems to be a really good guy
he brought a smile to my face, was nice, i wont deny

he made me laugh, and he looked in my eyes when we talked
held hands on the beach, where we went for a walk

he's never been married, no kids of his own
said he was embarrased that at 30 he was still alone

alone i thought, why, how could this be
then a glimmer of hope, maybe he was meant for me

we layed on the blanket and watched the sun set
it was one of those moments in life, you rarely get

we talked for hours, which only seemed like minutes
asked if he could kiss me on the cheek, said he didnt wanna press his limits

as he drove me home that night, i was on cloud nine
thinking to myself, i wish he could be mine

as he walked me to the door he kissed me on the lips
he slowly touched my face with just his finger tips

he said my dear lady what a wonderful night its been
i hope you dont mind, id like to see you again

as he walked away from me that night i still wore that smile
i couldnt remember the last time, man its been awhile

thanks guys...noticed a lot of poems on here are about loss and terrible things...all of mine have been i know, but i figured we all could use a little hope...dont know about you all but im sick of being alone and lonely all the time...
