Maybe once every two or three weeks. I make all our food at home.

My organic garden is now full of veggies and fruits that are ready for harvest so we hardly eat out these days. But we still make it a point to do so every time we go out for date night. I like trying food that I have not seen or tasted before. :)

I think you enjoy eating out and trying new foods when it is something that doesn't happen every day. It's a treat.

I can't wait to have a full size garden one day.

I understand that older people who live alone will find it easier to eat out regularly than cook. For me only, I want to be able to live without restaurants, pre-made food from the grocery store and seriously cut back the costs associated with these things. It's part of my master plan to live in a rural area where I can't get to grocery stores and restaurants easily. bigsmile

Just for the record....I'm not saying eating out is any better or worse than eating at home. No judgments here. flowerforyou

Just discussing because I've been making these changes this year and I like to hear what others do.

I like cooking my own food, taste better. But I don't want to eat pot roast all week, if you know what I mean?

Of course!

Do you like cooking? Cause there's more to cook than pot roast.

I usually eat out 3 times a week. I mostly make and take lunch, but occasionally I go out once when I'm busy and don't make time. Also i usually eat out somewhere twice on the weekend. Try not to eat much fast food, sometimes just go to traders and get already made wraps or other quick eatable items. It's harder to cook for one, but when I do I have leftovers for a day or two. I always cook when I have my two girls, every other weekend. I especially like to make breakfast.

I usually do my own cooking from scratch about 6 days a week , however once a week I like a break and get take out. That being said if I am offered a dinner out I am on it like flies to honeylol.

I go out to eat 3 times a week, and it's more like on the way back from work, rather than going out.

I'm a good cook, but I cooked for years for a family. Now I enjoy my eating out, so many people eat out just go to any popular nice restaurants. laugh

I usually prefer to cook my own meals, but my friends normally like me to come out with them about three times a week. Two weekdays and once every weekend. I can't always stand take-away food. Sometimes it swims in too much grease sick. We normally go to a restaurant. I also definitely prefer my own home-made Pizza rather than frozen Pizza. It just tastes better and healthier. I learnt to cook in my early twenties. Can't rely on mum to cook my meals forever. laugh :)

At least once a week i'm eating out somewhere, because i plan, shop, prepare and cook all the meals during the week, and by the time the w'end comes around i've had enough of my kitchen and go out to a local restaurant.

Ingredients
1 pound dried black-eyed peas
5 cups beef stock or canned broth
2 medium onions, finely chopped
4 large garlic cloves, minced
3 large jalapeño chilies
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon Cavender's All Purpose Greek Seasoning*
1 4-ounce jar diced pimientos, drained
*Available in the spice section of many supermarkets.

I did not have the jalapenos, or pimentos, or Greek
seasoning and yet somehow, it was the best ever.
Krupa says the jalapenos taste much better going
in than, er, coming out, he is still savoring it,
turned out wonderful. Thanks Joe :-)

Thanks Red for the video, I wish I could shake
my booty like Fergie :-)
