I don't get it. You are whining about affordable health care? You are whining about people being able to get insurance even if they have a pre-existing condition?

Employers have been hiring only part time to avoid having to give benefits or pay for holidays for as long as I can remember. Maybe 20 years, so THAT IS NOT NEW AT ALL.

If people want change there will naturally be a lot of kinks and complaints along the way.

If employers want good employees, they will pay them well.

If people want FULL TIME WORK they will refuse to take part time work.

If people refuse the part time work with no benefits then employers will have to comply eventually in order to get good employees.

If people are willing to settle for less and work like slaves employers will continue to cut benefits and offer less hours and pay.

It is all about supply and demand.

If you can't live on the cheap wages then start doing contract work, pay your own insurance, go into business for yourself.

Use your imagination. Adjustments will be made where they are required. Nobody loves change, but if you don't learn to adjust to it, nothing will change.

I'm not whining about the afordable healthcare act. Just pointing facts that companies are being force to layoff workers or reduce their hours to keep their doors open. It's that or close their doors.
You hear how great this was supposed to be. Yet the consequences are goin to hurt people in the long run.

Did you read any of the links posted as to why they are doing it?
It's because of this administrations tax plan, regulations, and the affordable healthcare act.
That's the reason businesses are doing this.
So yes you could say in part because he was reelected. There is no chance to change. This administrations policies are not business friendly.

it is a sad fact that most businesses fail,, if they cant afford a dollar an hour more per employee (roughly the fine for not having healthcare), they probably arent doing that great to begin with and werent destined to be successful....

They are making decisions on how to cut costs. If they think they can still run their business with less employees then they should do that.

They are not "being forced" to do anything.

AS I said, if people want change, there are going to have to adjust to it the best way they can.

The people being layed can now sit around and collect unemployment while they look for other work. And by the way, Obama extended unemployment payments for many people out of work for a long time.

These kinds of knee jerk reactions from people and particularly the stock market are negative fear based reactions based on fear.

We (all people) need to stop reacting or making decisions based on fear of what "might" happen and begin making decisions to adjust for actual events and actual problems.

a president signs the laws CONGRESS puts forth

so, its not an issua as simple as who the president is (especially since this president RARELY uses veto)

People are making decisions about how to save money. The stock market is just a great big gambling casino. People are losing faith in it anyway. It has no relation to the real value of things. Not to mention it is manipulated by the filthy rich.

Anyway what did you expect would happen?

If people want change, they have to accept that there will be adjustments and growing pains to go along with it.

As we progress to the death of the dollar, and the rise of the global economy, there will be a lot more to complain about.

We have let the filthy rich run our lives and buy our presidents and promise us benefits in exchange for high taxes, and we have given away our freedom for the promise of safety.

I really, but really like this answer. The spirit of it, that change will happen, change happens, and people can't continue to pay lip service when the change happens how much they like change happening, because in reality they hate change.

This was good.

I hate change too, and I am all the way behind no change. Women MUST not get older, and lose their looks, I MUST not grow old, fat, weak and senile, and most importantly I MUST not die.

In my opinion it works both ways: Whether the change is good for you, or they are congruent with your ideals, as well as when the change is bad for you ran disagreeable with your ideals.

Change occurs, it is hard to live through it.

The rest of the post, what with the dollar, the medicare, the rich, the stock market, they are illustrative points, but the philosophy on change you put down there, that really cuts really deep.
