Killing never solves anything whether legally sanctioned or not.

It doesn't resolve any problem that we have in this world ever.

And getting joy from the killing of someone makes you as bad as a killer.

Which should make you ashamed of yourself in reality.

huh Who said anything about getting joy from killing?

Is there another straw man argument that you want to try?

Also, the execution of a person who is actually guilty of first-degree murder solves the issue of just punishment.

No matter how you try to dance around the fact, execution is just punishment for someone who actually commits first-degree murder.

'gotta love the death penalty' implies getting joy from killing

If you say so. I would rather get joy from killing than being killed.

The title of this thread could imply a love for something that is perceived as being just punishment for murder. Only the person who started this thread can clarify the meaning of the title.

meaning is: The death penalty protects other innocent victims from being killed by a sick ruthless murderer. Victims families knowing that the person that heartlessly took the life of their loved one will never again take the life of another human and cause their loved ones to have to suffer as they have. That is human compassion. That is love for life, that is love for good and the right to live without fear of an a sick deranged animal snuffing out your life or the one that you so preciously hold dear. Death penalty is cruel? Listen to the broken hearts of their victims families, they are are seldom heard.

alleoops did not mention vengeance. He mentioned the broken hearts of victims' families. He explained why capital punishment is just punishment when a person is actually guilty of first-degree murder.

Somehow, the justice of executing actual murderers doesn't compute with some people.

It's not vengeance MS, no, far from it. It's not wanting another to suffer as a victims family have. Big difference. I hope that you can understand caring for others is human compassion. Compassion that killers don't have.

that logic is flawed to me, thats all

being incarcerated is sufficient to try to prevent future suffering,, when we kill the killer, we cause at least one more family to suffer for sure,,

If she has to fry, she will qualify for 30% more juice.

The relatives of the murderer don't suffer as much because they understand the justice of executing a murderer.

Besides, if it were unjust to execute a murderer, then why did God give the Israelites these instructions?:

"Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death. But if he did not lie in wait for him, but God let him fall into his hand, then I will appoint for you a place to which he may flee. But if a man willfully attacks another to kill him by cunning, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die." (Exodus 21:12-14)

The fact that you don't see the justice of executing a murderer doesn't mean that it is unjust, unless you want to accuse God of being unjust.
