Topic: How long would you wait

Have met someone one here and ahve been together for almost eight years. Have been told that he will come to me in one year when he is able to retire. We have vacationed together and have had several weekends together, but as the retirement date grows near, I am now in less contact than I have ever experienced in this relationship. Any thoughts? Have I set myself up for failure?

Eight years? Best ask him that question. If you can't ask or feel like you can't trust he'll tell the truth, why take it any farther?

Hummm your saying you meet someone 8 years ago and only seen them a few times.... And now that it is getting to the time they say ya'll are going to be together and now you don't hear from them much? Sorry sounds to me they have been stringing you along...JMO...

Not enough info to go on.... But, if you got less contact now than you did 4 years ago.....don't get your hopes up.

Retirement is a big big stage in life. He may be very unsure of what he really wants to do. Ask him!

If you have enjoyed the time together and you don't mind the wait... you didn't waste your time. Maybe it is time to move on...but that is something you should discuss with your partner in detail. Good luck either way to you.
