I've been a seller on ebay for about a year now. Here at the end of my rope with it also:angry: .OK 1st of all I sell rare sports memorabilia autographs ,sports card and such mainly baseball. Why is it that all the people there think you should just give it away I mean rare stuff that should sell for at least 300-500$ gets bids like20-30$ I mean wtf this stuff is hard to come by and you get bs bids like that.I have found its with everything.I understand its a auction but cmon people its not a barn and its not stuff people dont want.Stuff we have collected over the years as a investment to sell for our kids future and whatever else we wanted.Does anyone know of any other sights you can go on where people dont expect getting your stuff for free basically????
AND YES I WANT SOME CHEESE WITH MY WHINE. I BET I HAVE LOST $3000.00 IN PROFET BECAUSE OF THOSE CHEAP ARS PEOPLE.

I've tried selling old car parts from the teens to the 60's on Ebay. An absolute waste of my time. It would have taken way less effort and time to just toss them all in the garbage and I would have been further ahead by far.
I just hate the idea of throwing away something that someone may be looking for to complete a project. Such a waste.

What about the reserve process? I thought you could get some relief there. Seems to me I read that you have to pay a fee if an item doesn't sell based on the reserve amount but I'm not too clear on that. If anyone can shed some light on that I'd be interested in hearing about it. I have several industrial tools I would like to get rid of and I've been reluctant to go that route.

You might try bid4assets.com or craigslist.com, where you can list in different cities. I don't know if you can list all cities at once. There you just offer something for sale at whatever price you are comfortable with.

ebay is basically an auction site. people that go to auctions look for deals and will try to get something for as cheap as possible. if you're basically offering something "for best offer" do you really think someone is going to start the bidding off at what it is worth? i think offering a reserve is the way to go. it may not sell as quickly but if someone wants it they will buy it.

it is hard to verify authenticity of such things on ebay

quit trying to do it the cheap way and have a reliable

seller move it for you

Need to really look at the economy. 9/11 hurt way more than most realize. Collectors are finding actual cash value of things has gone done drasticly. Something is only wort what people will really pay. Money is tight & actual spendable cash is even tighter. Lots of people tell me they have dropped e bay due to the poor prices. Plus scammers have figured out how to work the system, lots of junk getting sold. Fake bids also

Yes they charge you for everything and anything listing it starting at 99 cents with out a gallery picture is 35 cents. You have to pay extra for a reserve "depending on how much the reserve is example $40 reserve cost you $2.25 + the listing fee +the gallery picture + any extra like a frame or BOLD PRINT pictures are 15 cents extra per picture.after you get raped by them cheap ars people yoyu get raped by ebay. After everything said in done most the time you just gave your **** away:angry: grumble explode explode explode explode

reliable seller huh???? You obviously dont know anything about what your talking about ,the cheap way.... have you not been reading lolol. Ebay is far from cheap and what am I spose to do give it to someone else so they can profit off my stuff lolol not happening.I know more about the baseball hobbie market then 85% of most sellers.I've had my nose in BECKET magazine for years it is just like the stock market just not as much money involved.

EVERYONE SHOULD READ THE WHOLE FORUM NOT JUST THE LAST FEW POST!

Use a clothes hanger to attach the cards to your bike frame and stick them in to the spokes. Then post the pictures on Ebay just to spite all the greedy people who wouldn't pay for them!laugh

Wording in your desciptions...and the catagory you place your items in are usually very important...as well as finding the right bidder...the one who truly wants what you have...

You could do everything exactly the same...with just one oerson different viewing and end up with a completely different result... out of your control... timing is everything...

I actually run a store ...with items there, that can be seen should anyone choose to visit after viewing an auction item... I agree though...it is not just e-bay...it is the entire "free-market" capitalism at it's finest... evryone wants everything as cheaply as they can get it...

I do complicated and ornate woodworking...one of a kind and very limited production pieces(numbered and signed)...and I will not work for free...lol...

My market are those who want heirloom quality artistry in wood...something that you will not cheap...anywhere

A few different friends of mine have owned card shops in the recent past... I have been told by them that it is not as marketable as it once was...the "bottom" kinda fell out in the early 90's...a flooded market...

Good luck my friend...
