I really admire independence. I agree with the person who mentioned finding a guy who thinks the same way as you do, as that would filter out more of what you don't want. While the damsell in distress is quite sweet in theory, I don't find it practical much.

I donno .....I think of my girl as an equal .

I help her when she needs help.

She helps me when I need help.

Individually we have our strengths and weakness.

Together, we become much more.

Damsels in distress are the worst. I am an independent woman but don't mind sharing the chores with a guy. I don't do the damsel in distress thing as that doesn't work for me.

Nothing beats a woman in a kitchen...Doesn't mean she can't work and be independent.

There is no such thing as independence. Independence is an illusion.
We are all interdependent and it is wise to recognize how we all
rely on each other in various ways, accept this and learn to gracefully
help others and learn to gracefully appreciate others helping us.

Since we are all interdependent in various ways the only difference is
how to divide our responsibilities. There is no way to divide equally
so we share the duties/chores as best we can according to our talents
and capabilities and learn to enjoy the gift of each other.
