I have been contacted by people with fake profiles - one in particular who was impersonating a highly decorated and high of rank US soldier. Three more who have been caught out by me as to their geography, background and job. It's almost a knee jerk reaction now. Get a mail - disprove the authenticity of the person who messages. What frightens me even more is that I am almost 100% certain that Mingle2 is creating fake profiles to 'attract' people to the site and/or trying to keep people interested. I am even MORE fed up with men from Africa who are trying to scam women to find an easy pay check and visa. There was a recent program on Australian TV which featured a scammer who ripped off an Australian women - funny that Mingle2 was also featured on the report as being a vehicle for that man's continued scamming!! I have had enough - however, that anger has generated an enthusiasm to complain to the media in Australia.

This is why Mingle2 has procedures in place
if you suspect a scammer.
You Report them.
It is handled immediately.

It is a downside to the internet, instant
access wherever you go.

Mingle2 has no interest in bogus profiles in any way.
They are immediately deactivated and banned permanently.

It is why getting to know someone in the
forums, goes a LONG way towards authentication.

am on a couple other Sites,and this one has the least Spammers and Scammers of them all!
Even though Mingles has no Regional Restrictions like some other Sites!
Some other Sites don't allow Africa,part of the ME and Eastern Europe,yet still have considerable Scammers from the Regions they exclude!

Online sites are the perfect places for predators and scammers to weasel their way in to people's hearts and pocket books. I just say watch your back and trust your guts.

This is an unfortunate aspect about dating / social sites, to be sure, but we make it a point to stay vigilant. It's not easy to tell on your end, at times, but we kill the vast majority of scammer accounts before they get started,

Lillabelle, I think I encountered the same guy "Brian". He sounded very nice and sincere in his e-mails. I have been a military spouse in my former life and he was just piling it on too thickly and would not answer my questions. His insignia on his uniform gave him away as most likely a Corporal and not a Major in the US Marines currently in Afghanistan. Thanks to 'soufiehere's directions I just reported him by the way. But now I am getting discouraged, it took some guts to even sign on here and now I trust even less. I thought of myself as intelligent, but now not so much. Arrrghhh I even send the guy some pictures. Oh someone give me a smack in the head for that!

Yep, they nailed someone who looked at my profile some 18 hours ago and deactivated the account. So yes, I'd say they are pretty fast about these things. Just need to report them.

My blocked and reported box has beaucoups blocked profiles in it.

I use a thang called common sense.

I know, damn well, ain't no 22 year old, tight body is interested in an old, bald, fat dude.

Any gal that lives in the Nigeria and wants to hook up, is prolly some old, fat, bald dude tryin' a scam.

I feel a lot better after reading what you nice people have written. I have met 2 people from this site that tried to lure me with a cash scam they must think your stupid. I belive in karma I have posted comments in the forums in a comical way if the topic is light but anyone who truly wants to hurt someone or is angry about their views on life are truly unbalanced

I think I have a whole inbox full of scammer's. All engineers who wives have died, widows, and children or grown.. I have heard that before from scammers would you agree?

Please report these through the email or profiles. This site has zero tolerance for scammers, but we can't catch them all
