I have spent most of my life reading body language, which is like 86% of communication, and now I have started to try online dating. It is like speaking a foreign language to me. I have no idea when someone is telling me the truth or being deceptive. How can anyone have an online relationship? I met this one gal after declining many scammers and prostitutes and various other what nots. I know there is deception out there just don't know how much if any is true and real. This gal I met has no cam, no phone, and no way of knowing who she is. She txts like japanese americans talk but is supposedly caucasion. K. lol. let me hear some opinions

Usually, a scammer will make early attempts to
lure you off site.
Yahoo is the predominant tool for this.

The reason is, there are no controls off site,
like there are here.

If you suspect someone of ulterior motives,
use the Report feature, no harm no foul :-)

I've been rather new here, too. And I have already experienced that a few guys have tempted to lure me off the site immediatelly after we had made a contact here giving me their yahoo id etc. I didn't do it, because going to a more personal contact like this is simply too fast for me...But I always wondered if I was too distrustful or weired, because to me online chatting and phone can be used only when there has been already some knowledge, trust and intimacy established through mailing... But all I experience is some strange hastiness I just can't get along... What do you guys think about this: is step by step approach to intimacy in online dating really so unreasonable or out of date? I have some other questions: are all such "hasty" people supposed to be scammers? What do the scammers really want to gain and why in particular do they use yahoo??? I hope I don't sound too ignorant, but I would really be grateful for any helpful information...:)

Red flags, possible scammer. "Google" her screen name, email address, IM ids, any info. she has given you to see if she is a known scammer. Even if nothing comes up, she may still be a scammer, just use common sense and trust your gut.

Every major phone company has the text to phone on their site, there's other services that can text to phone online. If you have email, you can send text via email, you just send an email to the phones email address, they can reply as well.

My feeling she is she may be put off by your profile picture and just keeping things very safe.

If someone doesn't post several pictures and trys to go off site before you want to then they are probabaly either a scammer of just bored playing on a phone and probably married.

I get everyone is not a college graduate and may not have the best typing or grammer/spelling skills which should not preclude them being a good person but light conversation should not be that hard to get out of someone.

Why waste your time? Too many nice people on line that are willing to make an effort.

I got her to give me her address and then I used google earth and saw there was a ball diamond across the road from her house and so I asked her what was across the road from her and she said a school. lol. idk

If you suspect that she maybe a scammer, stop communicating with her, report her, and block her.
