Topic: Do you prefer natural beauty or a make up mask?

My husband was glad that I didn't wear gobs of make-up...He felt his first wife went overboard in the "make-up department." And he was happy that I didn't "plaster" my face with lipstick and layers of "goop" like she did...If I get dressed-up for a special event I might use a little mascara but that's it. (My eyebrows and lashes are light colored.)...I don't use foundation and rarely wear lipstick. It feels good to just get up and "go" the way I am. (In my natural state.)...I used mascara and eyeshadow a little more often when I was younger but I've never liked "goop" all over my face.

I am curious what you guys out there prefer. I have wondered since i was a teen so could you please commenttongue2

I prefer both. Over a not-so-beautiful face. Everyone can be made into a beautiful person, you just need to hire the righ make-up people. I think this is the only thing that is fair and just in life: beauty which can be simulated by artificial means. Heck, even men can be made to look beautiful, so why should women suffer, those who have a natural disadvantage?

It's the same as a handicap in horseracing or golfing.

Ladies, if you have been dealt a raw deal by fate at birth, or later, then put on those padded bras, the corsette, and cake up that face with mascara and eyeliner -- make yourself beautiful. The competition is tough, you need a man, so don't be shy.

I wear make up to make me feel better about how I look not because I need a man. I am also not in competition to get a man. That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.

What happens when all the "fake stuff" and padding comes off? Then what?

Nah, see I believe someone like Jessica Alba still winning this argument over say Julia Stiles. This is the world we live in. Alba looks hideous in person. Washed out and horrid, terrible personality to boot. I met Julia Stiles when I lived in NY. Saw her natural beauty up-close. Her personality is off the charts and she's pretty genuine. Now this is the type of girl a man is afraid of. They see someone as phony and trite as Alba: she's a safe, unchallenging "hottie." The men folk really hardly put personality over make-up and looks. Ginger or Maryanne? Ginger wins. Bitter pill children.

Well since the only time I wear ANY makeup is if Im going out, I believe in natural beauty. However some women DO have to use makeup to enhance their beauty....

make up is fun and can be a weapon of sorts lol. sometimes women use it as a way to give themselves the extra confidence they need to try something they've never done, we use it to be seductive, but we can also use it to enhance what we have. i don't wear make up ever single day but i have make up for all occasions. and then i have rules such as iittle to no make up on the first date lol. its like getting a sneak peak at a present before we let u unwrap it happy

You can say that all you want but as I said earlier; some of us just don't have natural beauty. Not all of us women were blessed with natural beauty. If we were; make up probably wouldn't exist.

When make up is used to accentuate the lips and eyes, I find it very attractive providing it is not over done. However, I am happy if a woman prefers not to wear any make up, whichever she feels more comfortable with, her choice.

anything that ENHANCES Whats there is still 'natural' in my opinion

anything that CREATES what was not there before is 'unnatural'

some people wear very 'natural looking' makeup and dont look much different with it off except minor flaws are more visible

others HIDE major flaws with cake makeup and it looks hoorid when the make up comes off

I think BEAUTY is just BEAUTY, and make up is a tool to enhance or create it

The thing that makes the biggest difference in a woman's looks is a smile. I've found that the warmer and kinder women tend to look better and be more attractive. I'm not against a woman using makeup if she feels good about using it, but as some of the other men have said, as long as it isn't caked on. Some women put so much stuff around their eye, they look like racoons. Thankfully not many do that but I've seen it.

I definitely agree that with makeup,, less is more,,
