I think a lot of women do the makeup/perfect appearance thing for the same reason men drive fancy, lifed pickups(like me...lol). Three reasons men drive big pickups:
1. To impress members of the same sex
2. to impress members of the opposite sex
3. To gain a little bit of clearance between the drive train and the ground.

I believe it is a phallic symbol. What do they call it when women do it?

How about we do it because it makes us feel better and also makes others take notice that you take care of yourself.

Just like the boys with there toys ya do it cause it makes ya feel good its what makes one happy and cause ya can.

Most work hard they treat themselves by doing these things besides why do we have to have a reason for doing the things or buying the things we enjoy.

If you work all your life and never enjoy other things in life then why the hell work and just be here enjoy the fruits for that is what life is about to enjoy it while your here.

Does it always have to be labeled as trying to impress others I always keep my nails done ,hair etc and if anyone thinks I do it to impress others they are so wrong I do it cause that is what I like to do it makes me feel good I could careless what someone thinks of me. As long as I'm happy with me.

Most mornings you can find me jogging or swimming laps - I don't do makeup very well due to my job and I'm pretty much a homebody so my cat and dog aren't very concerned with whether my hair is coiffed or my shoes match my belt. Some women like to take time with themselves and it doesn't show vanity - just a personal thing. ALL women don't do this just like ALL men don't like football! What a crazy world we live in!
