i agree river. and being dyslexic has nothing to do with using the correct grammar. i do understand what river is saying because it does get annoying sortof, but then i realize they just don't care how they spell and why should i.

If someone starts a thread stating why do women do this annoying thing, why do guys to this, no one asks them, why are you being so critical? Why do you want to bring people down? Now I have to ask, why the knee-jerk defensiveness to this question?

In the great scheme of things does it REALLY matter? People are dying all over the world, babies are starving to death. With all of this bickering and fighting you all are bringing down this wonderful site that you guys love so much.

Ok, so people get sloppy when they are typing fast or maybe thry have learning disabilities. It really doesn't matter who they are inside.

The worse part is I'm a terrible speller...

One day I couldn't even get spell check to figure out what I wanted.. "acknowledge" I swear I tried 10 times...

But in all honesty, This is soo wrong in so many ways.

Wouldn't it be sad if because of a judgemental thread like this Wonderful people stopped posting or worse yet left the site???

It really is no big deal. I've got a college degree as well, but still inver letters and numbers. I either get going too fast to try to keep up with a thread, am tired, I'm dyslexic too, and there are tons more reasons this can and does happen.......no skin off my tits

Yes, literacy matters to me. Not little typos or common mistakes, but the overall impression.

What "picks my butt" is when men write to me in monosyllables - AND in online -ese.

For example, the first e-mail to a woman you're trying to get to know should not contain one word: "sup?"

Oh, and yes, it ok to have an opinion ---just NOT in this forum DONTCHA KNOW BY NOW!!!!!!!

MIKE it is true. I once got a letter from my dad. At first I thought, WTF? Then I started reading it like I would any normal text. People can read most words without the vowels.....Check that on Snopes.....if isn't true, I'll eat my words

Shadow_Princess, girl don't ever let someone make you ever feel ingorant or that you are not worthy at anytime. I have seen and read your poems. You have something that very few have. You can put your thoughts and feeings onto the page for others to read. And when they read them the feel what you feel.

I'm one that is very guilty of doing this with the words I get them mixed up all the time. I spell alot wrong yeah should be allot or a lot ya know what who gives a flying F**k. All I can say is if that is what one is going to make judgement on me those are the ones I have no use for.

ok I'm a little with Rivergirl on this issue. Not to be critical, as I appreciate diversity. However I try to do things right and I think a lot of people do not. Not to say they are stupid, they just don't care, and of course some think it is cute to add little peculiar twists of typos. I make typos, misspellings and grammatical errors as well, but most often these are oversights rather than lack of interest in being correct.

When I can not spell a word I usually know that I can not spell it, and JSH has conveniently added a spell checker to put a nice red line under the incorrect spellings. If you right-click on those words a list of alternative spellings will pop up and you can select the proper spelling in most cases. So basically misspelling here is the easy way out, easier than a simple right-click and select.

Anybody who has issues with my punctilious nature is disqualified from being my girlfriend, so what. No go look up punctilious and lay off the Rivergirl who made a comment and was taken to be mean spirited, which clearly was not her intent.
