We hear about the catestrophic medical expenses of crime victims. Would you contribute to a fund or want your tax dollars being directed to this kind of relief?

I would contribute for sure.. I'd also contribute to the homeless and hungry in the US first.. Still haven't thought of a specific way to do that.. I often wonder how those that can't find work and have run out of unemployment are surviving..

If we could keep congresses grubby fingers out of the fund and prevent scammers from taking advantage of it!

Honestly, I do not know about everyone else who was hit by losing unemployment, but I have been slowly selling everything I own just to make ends meet. I couldn't get enough money teaching music so I have been slowly selling my Guitar and Bass collection. My parents have let me move back in with them temporarily, but I just try to keep my head up high and continue looking for a solid steady paycheck. I know the worst I can do is give up.

I would contribute, but like Andy said, government butt out, you've messed up enough...Charity is better off without your interference...

If I donate $1.00, how much of that dollar is actually going to the person that needs it? How much of that dollar will be used for "administrative expenses." I remember from the Tsunami that hit Indonesia a couple years back, Red Cross volunteers were lodging about an hour away from the actual disaster zone. They would drive back and fourth in SUVs everyday. Im under the assumption they could have set up camp in the disaster zone, or close to it.

yes, I think every little bit helps and even with no guarantee that my little bit will go to a 'victim', I would contribute to the other costs associated with running a fund for victims

so yes,,,
