Someone please explain to me why the westboro baptist church would protest a memorial service for the victims of aurora, colorado. They help signs that read "God bless the shooter". What did these people do to deserve this treatment. A 6 year old girl died in the shooting, is this a good thing too?
In my opinion the church is getting out of control with their protests. I don't understand why they would protest military services or a memorial for victims of a mass shooting. |

Westboro has been doing this for years. The nice way to put it is "they have lost their way."

It's aggravating, I'm not religious but still, i can see how wrong this is.

Hummm I was raised Baptist this is just another reason I have for not going to church. It is not that I don't believe in God, it is because I don't believe in Preachers and the actions they take. It is in fact what made me quit going to church..
This is soooooooooooo wrong in soooooooooo many ways.... |

Actually, they are often considered extreme by the fundamentalists. |

By strict definition, fundamentalism is considered a cult and not a religion. This can be readily seen by violence done by fundamentalist groups- Xian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindi, Buddhist (yes Buddhists fundamentalists have committed many atrocities).

I don't understand why they would protest military services or a memorial for victims of a mass shooting. Religion is the spectrum that develops around the Advent of a Prophet. That spectrum ranges from extreme fundamental (follow the Words of the Prophets to the letter as men wrote it) ... to the extreme where the word is altered to fit a relaxed life style and the person beleives anything they want to do is allowed by God. Westboro is (albeit not as far out) of the same extreme as groups like the Taliban. They think that the shooter was sent by God to punish America for our sins. (may God have mercy upon each of them when their time of Judgement comes). The spectrum comes about as a direct result of the exercise of the Gift of Free Will. Westboro folks (like the Taliban) exercise that free will in an attempt to force others to follow the same narrow band of the spectrum that they do. As I stated. I pray God have mercy upon them when it is the day of Judgement... (edit... In answer to OP's final question. NO it is not a good thing to do for it damages the innocent by the act of Judging... Only God can Judge). |

a message to the dragon: Who will worship you when we are gone?
That church worships the dragon. |

I do hope that when their time of judgement comes, they pay a heavy price for their actions. They are not human in my eyes, they are cruel devils that have fallen from their god and are being overly swayed by whatever devil they have.
They are mean spirited and apparently love to torture families of deceased military people or other victims. It is high time this "cult" is dealt with. For the friends and families of the deceased that this church has protested, I hope things get better. I am also proud of the people that formed the wall to keep the protesters out. |

If people would stop paying attention to Westboro, then Westboro would fade into obscurity. |

But they better stay out of my way. |
