About 10 years ago I did a lot of research on my ancestry. There are records going back 8 generations (to the early 1700's). Almost all English with some Micmac about 150 years ago. Turns out the family legend my brother and I were told about our great-great-great-grandfather was just plain wrong. He lost an arm in the Revolutionary War and still managed to clear the forest for a home and make bricks and guns. His wife was supposedly the first schoolteacher in the local area.

I didn't know that. Apparently, I'm a descendant of a mutant then. Anyone can cross the border and call themselves American nowadays, where is your family from originally? You have no pride or ties to that? English Scottish, Irish. Themselves probably a melting pot. Don't know a one, too many generations here. |

Did us folks with hazel eyes come from a mutated one, or just abnormal one? |

Did us folks with hazel eyes come from a mutated one, or just abnormal one? Anything other than brown was the one mutant :-) It freaked me out that they even knew it was a woman, all in the DNA. |

To the best of my knowledge I'm Italian on both sides. There is a site you can use to find out your whole ancestry, and I like that a lot. I use it occasionally but don't know enough about paternal grandmother, to get too much information. She passed away when my dad was 2 years old. I do find it very interesting though. You never know where your bloodline will lead you.
