Zone Troopers '85

Italy 1944. Four American GI's encounter Nazis, Hitler, crashed UFO's, and aliens. This is one of my favorite films from Empire/Full Moon Pictures. It feels like a comic book movie, the story is straight out of a 1950's scifi comic.

V/H/S

A group of misfits are hired by an unknown third party to burglarize a desolate house in the countryside and acquire a rare tape. Upon searching the house, the guys are confronted with a dead body, a hub of old televisions and an endless supply of cryptic footage, each video stranger than the last.

A rare film that totally creeped me out. Loved the whole concept. Found footage and anthology- perfect combination.

The Hole '09

A pair of brothers stumble upon a mysterious hole in their basement that leads to the darkest corridors of their fears and nightmares.

This one got me too. Mainly because of that freakin' clown doll.

Over the holidays my son and I went to see The Dark Knight Rises. He liked it; I was singularly bored with it. I thought that it was 'an action movies'; it was mostly talk...lost interest after 20 minutes. Very little 'action'. The next one we saw was the latest Bond movie. It was great to see it up on a screen 9 stories high. The acoustics were fantastic. A lot less gadgets for Bond to play with was nice for a change, Superb action sequences. Strangely the name of it didn't stick...
Still waiting for the supposed plan to make the sequel to The Chronicles of Riddick...if it ever happens, too much time would have elapsed, which was the problem with the low rating of the last Star Trek movie, but hey, they are making another, at last. I just hope it is the same cast, well, except for the one who played Chekov...I don't think he 'fit' that character' perhaps too young, too exuberant...

Scavenger Hunt

To inherit a fortune, various addressees of a will must compete in a wild scavenger hunt to collect selected items, but cannot be simply bought.

I've always been a fan of this. What a great collection of actors from Ruth Gordon and Vincent Price, to Tony Randall and Roddy McDowall. It's in the same vein as It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu

Jeff is an ordinary guy that is stuck at a dead end job with a boring life, but when a strange old man gives him an Ancient relic and tells him that he is the last bloodline of H.P. Lovecraft, He and his friend Charlie embark on an adventure to protect the relic piece from falling into the hands of the Starspawn and his minions that wish to reunite the relic and release Cthulhu back into the world.

I love this movie, it's like Shaun Of The Dead for Lovecraft fans.

Don't Look In The Basement

Nurse Charlotte Beale arrives at the isolated Stephens Sanitarium to work, only to learn that Dr. Stephens was murdered by one of the patients and his successor, Dr. Geraldine Masters, is not very eager to take on new staff. Charlotte finds her job maddeningly hard as the patients torment and harass her at every turn, and she soon learns why Dr. Masters is so eager to keep outsiders out.
