If we are not careful we might ALL find ourselves in the judge's seat
by pointing fingers at who may be judging amongst us.

Or by suggesting that while we ourselves don't judge,
obviously there are certain ones who do.

Jesus did not judge...he came to save everyone who listened.

But he did get mad at the moneychangers in the temple.

This is for certain Makahiya7!

1 Corinthians 2:10-16

God has revealed true wisdom to us by his Spirit.
Here is a proof of the Divine authority of the Holy Scriptures, 2Pe_1:21.

In proof of the Divinity of the Holy Ghost, observe, that he knows all things,
and he searches all things, even the deep things of God.

No one can know the things of God, but his Holy Spirit, who is one with the Father and the Son,
and who makes known Divine mysteries to his church.

This is most clear testimony, both to the real Godhead and the distinct person of the Holy Spirit.

The apostles were not guided by worldly principles.

They had the revelation of these things from the Spirit of God,
and the saving impression of them from the same Spirit.

These things they declared in plain, simple language, taught by the Holy Spirit,
totally different from the affected oratory or enticing words of man's wisdom.

The natural man,
the wise man of the world, receives not the things of the Spirit of God.

The pride of carnal reasoning is really as much opposed to spirituality, as the basest sensuality.

The sanctified mind discerns the real beauties of holiness,
but the power of discerning and judging about common and natural things is not lost.

But the carnal man is a stranger to the principles, and pleasures, and actings of the Divine life.

The spiritual man only,
is the person to whom God gives the knowledge of his will.

How little have any known of the mind of God by natural power!

And the apostles were enabled by his Spirit to make known his mind.

In the Holy Scriptures,
the mind of Christ, and the mind of God in Christ, are fully made known to us.

It is the great privilege of Christians,
that they have the mind of Christ revealed to them by his Spirit.

They experience his sanctifying power in their hearts, and bring forth good fruits in their lives.

It is truly hard to find balance between judgement and discernment. Learning the language of the Holy Spirit helps. The one thing I have noticed is that God is ALWAYS motivated by love.

there is a difference between judging 'things' and judging people

imho

there has never been confusion there for me

'good' people can do bad things/wrong things
just like 'bad' people can do good things/right things

only God will know the totality of our actions and words

but that doesnt stop us from knowing the right and wrong of those actions and words,,,

I disagree with you Missharmony about knowing right & wrong of our actions. There are christians who are confused, taught error etc. The Word says 'My people perish because of lack of knowledge'. Not every believer is strong & many fall into sin & error.

The ten commandments are not that easy to keep. I like to think I do fine by them but the truth is I have trouble keeping the Sabbath. So I continuously fall into sin and have to pray for forgiveness. The others, no God before Him, honor father and mother, love neighbor, don't want neighbors items or wife, don't kill, etc are easy to me. I guess everyone has a sticky point?

All I'm saying is everyone falls into sin and error except Jesus.

Yep, I say & post things in good faith. When I either think about things or reread my posts, they can look downright sharp, oops. Sabbath? I think God wants us to spend time resting & worshiping, He isnt out to 'get us'if we make mistakes lol.

I n a study that I'm presently in, I found a very interesting point and that is:
God established the 10 commandments as the foundation for the new nation of Israel, after being delivered out of bondage. They were never intended to be a measure of our ACCEPTABILITY to God. After all God did for His people, there was no question about this. They were an expression of His character, His values for His people. They were NOT a condition for a relationship, they WERE the CONFIRMATION of one.

The old law was fulfilled in Christ, so we are no longer under it anyhow. I love the liberty of the new covenant. The 10 commandments just flow naturally because of relationship with God.

Hmmm, I believe we are still bound by the ten commandments, Jesus lived his life by them and I think he was here to show us how to do so.

You are so right oldhippie to this point...

The Law is God's Standards for us to live by.

Many Christians have misunderstood Christ's fullfillment of the Law.
They've used this declaration as a licence to continue in sin.

In the seventies and eighties I felt the MOST pressure to use drugs
coming from Christians who were of this thought.

They used every scripture they could come up with to try to convince me
that getting wasted and sexual permiscuity was not something we were accountible for.

Sadly, many of them fell by the wayside.

Quite a lot of "Christians" actually hate God's laws and they live that way.
Yes they think that Jesus made it "ok" for them to sin.

Psalms 1:

Righteous and the Wicked Contrasted

1, Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2, But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Everyone is at a different place on their journey with God. It is Him that moulds us like clay to be vessels for His purposes. In the body of Christ we should never feel inferior or superior. We are created beings all journeying to the same destination.
