Topic: throwing away true love | |

I was just curious: Has anyone here ever seen the South American film "Broken Skies?" I only ask because--given this is a dating/meeting folks site--so many of us have likely thrown away our life's true love over a mirage ... ?
As a research student I can't help but wonder how many of us have regrets--as in the Chili Peppers' song--for the things we did as opposed to the things we didn't do ... now that we've seen the other side of life ... ? |

What a genius question. I don't think I ever thought the grass was greener on the other side. I don't follow cliche statements anyway. I had to leave my last ex as he was dangerous. I wasn't leaving him to get one up on him. I know others do, but if I decide to dump a guy, there's normally a very important/major thing that's happened to make me think I'm better off without him. I actually never expected love ever again after him.

As a younger girl i went out with some wonderful Blokes, but always ended up being commited to people who where not very nice.
Now when I look back, although I am not sorry, as it was only through the rubbish that I became who I am. My life would have been so much easier, for me and my children if I had of been a little wiser, when I was younger. |

I don't think I've thrown away my like's true love yet. I think I've gotten rid of some mirages though. I have some regrets, and I've wondered 'what if', but everything choice I've made and every thing I have done, or not done has led me to the point I am at now. Without the choices I've made and without the things that I have dealt with, I would not be at the point I am at now. I would not have learned as much as I know now. I think it prepares us and matures us to where we need to be as adults. Now, I AM ready for 'true' love. |

I have some regrets and they always involved being talked into doing something I did not want to do.
My advice to people is to just learn to say no. If you don't want to do it, don't do it. |
