I am using the Chrome Browser, but for some reason my Internet Explorer says that I am running with add-ons disabled, and now it wont do a "Windows Update". I went to my add-ons, and they are all enabled??

When I hit start, the Internet Explorer there says "no add-ons" also.

Why do I keep getting this?

And when I try to do my Windows Update, it says look at the bar to install Active X, but then all the bar says is that the add-ons are disabled, and doesnt give me the option to install Active X like it should??

Im stuplified.what

Should I just throw my computer out my window?rofl rofl rofl rofl

If you insist on using Chrome, make it your default browser.

Uninstall IE.

To do so:

Press your Windows key, go to Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a program.

Click on Turn Windows features on or off.

Uncheck Internet Explorer and click OK.

Restart your computer.

Setup Windows for auto updating and automatically installing updates.

To do so:

Go to your control panel>System and Security.

Under Windows Update, click on Turn automatic updating on or off.

In the Important Updates drop-down menu, select Install updates automatically.

Under Install new updates pick at time when your computer is most likely to be operating.

Check the Recommended Updates, and any other boxes you wish, then click OK.

Go back to Control Panel>System and security, and go to Windows Updates>Check for updates.

I opened the Control Panel, and there is no "Programs" in Chrome.

And in I.E. I went to Internet Options then to Programs, and there is no "unistall programs".

No, You go to Control Panel in Windows, and there is a Programs, Intsall/Uninstall Programs, something like that (I forgot you're on XP may be named slightly different).

From there you should see a button or a link to uninstall/install/add/remove/turn on/off Windows features.

It's not in IE or Chrome, it's in Windows Control Panel.

My computer doesnt look anything like that at all.

When I try to do Windows updates, I get this..

Please change your Internet Explorer security settings
To save changes to your settings for this website, you need to enable userdata persistence for Internet Explorer. Complete the steps below, and then click Change settings to the left and try saving your changes again.
In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Security tab, click the Internet security zone icon, and then click Custom Level.
In the Settings dialog box, scroll to the Miscellaneous section.
Under Userdata persistence , select Enable.
Click OK and when the security warning dialog box appears, click Yes.

I did all that to no avail, because IE is still running with no add ons and IDK why?

You're going through the website, you should be able to do so through Windows.

This link may help uninstalling IE.

This link may help with auto updates in XP.

I stopped using IE because I have an older Windows system and the add ons weren't compatible and kept messing up my system, so I just disabled the updates

The Windows updates? You should keep Windows up to date.

If you have auto updates enabled, it will only do the updates for your OS version that are compatible, shouldn't mess anything up. They should actually help.

You should also be able to pick which ones you want and which ones you don't want.

That's what I thought but every time I did the updates it would mess the computer up. Hasn't messed up once since I disabled them a year ago

Hmmm, sounds strange. You at least have up to date antivirus/anti-malware protection though, right?
