Topic: Homophobia is alive and well. | |

Yeah, that's fine with me, as it happens in most threads. But to say that just because someone else said something off topic and that was quoted, that the OP is moot is just silly.

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/how-could-you-boycott-a-cookie Homophobes even boycott cookies now, because they support homosexuality. Oreo put the following picture on their Facebook page and received a ton of comments by bigots who didn't agree. Go to the URL above to see the comments. The original topic. While I don't agree with homosexuality, they are humans and have rights. There are fringe lunatics in each sexual orientation to give the others a bad name. Name calling by others does nothing to improve life, and we should all be about improving life. JMO. Anything different from the "norm" will be picked on, unfortunately. |

Unfortunately, I think it goes way beyond being "picked on."

Maybe a poor choice of words but you understood what I meant.

Well, kind of. You are making it sound like something insignificant. However, I think the hatred shown by those people go way beyond that. It's sad.

You misunderstand my reluctance to use forceful words...it leads to cursing and I'm not good at it, don't practice it. But hatred, blind or otherwise, is not good. You are splitting hairs over semantics. You say tomatoe, I say tomataa. |

I checked it out, but still there is no hatred from GOD about homosexuality. Yes, he doesn't approve of homosexual actions. But that doesn't mean he hates the homosexual themselves, that is why he offers forgiveness and a chance to redeem oneself through the blood of Jesus Christ. |

The sinner has a choice of continuing or stopping. The consequences will either be heaven or hell. And, hate-mongering extremists will call the above statement hate. |

Again, this whole thread was about the link I posted in the first post. It was not about god. You and others who got into the religious discussion tried making it about god, which took the thread off topic. Yes, there is still much hatred out there toward homosexuality. The link in the first post shows that quite well. |

It didn't start out in the religion forum, as it wasn't mean to be a religious thread. That would be why I said all the religious talk moved the thread off topic, as it got the thread moved.
