The park only allows four people per cabin so people arriving as a passenger should check in as "day use". Anyone driving a car should check in as staying at the cabin since they will get a tag for their car and the park rangers will check every tag, every night. If more than four people check in as staying at a cabin, the park will require another cabin (down in the canyon) to be rented. The reserved cabin for women is the Sorensen. It has one queen and one set of bunkbeds. The park would not guarantee which of the other two cabins the men will get. It will have either one queen and one bunkbed or one queen and one pull out daybed. Each cabin has two rooms with enough extra floorspace for a couple of cots or sleeping bags. Since Vivian is going to be the first one to show up, the reservations for the two cabins are under her name. |

Cabins There are two CCC vintage cabins perched on the rim of the canyon. Though rustic, these cabins have been renovated and have modern heating and cooling systems. Each cabin consists of two rooms plus restroom and shower. Lighthouse has a day bed with a pull-out. Goodnight and Sorenson have full size bunk beds. All three cabins have a queen size bed. There are no kitchen facilities, but there is a table and charcoal grill located just outside. Cooking is not permitted inside the cabins. Bed linens and towels are provided. A maximum of 4 persons are permitted per cabin. No pets are allowed in the cabins, nor may they be tied outside, crated or left in a vehicle. Check in time is 3:00 P.M. Check-out time is 11:00 A.M. The cabins are strictly Non-Smoking FEE: $ 110.00 per night plus tax and entrance fees. A third, slightly larger cabin, the SORENSON, is similar to the Lighthouse and Goodnight cabins. It has a large deck from which a panoramic view of the Canyon can be viewed. FEE: $ 125.00 per night plus tax and entrance fees.

Good thing I won't have to worry about that! Did you know that Possums can eat snakes? Poisonous snakes! Possums are pretty much immune to snake venom. What the possum lacks in swagger and grace, it more than makes up in grit. Truth be told, the opossum is a brick grit-house. Or so I'm told. I apparently am only half possum and one of the halves prefers to just play dead! |
