Topic: What is a gentleman? | |
---|---|
Gentleman; that word has been thrown around a lot the last few days in the dating & relationship forum. But, it's being used in a way I find unfamiliar. It seems a "gentleman" is supposed to be some kind of android devoid of sexual desires.
I've been around this forum long enough to know most women want a man to pursue them. To take the lead and make the first move. Yet still not desire her sexually? Is a "gentleman" the same as a "real man"? Please, give your definition. |

LOL! I would not take what is written in these forums too seriously. Just think Cary Grant.

lol thats the point entirely. Women say they want something while deep down they want something else. To be a true Gentlemen you have to give women what they need not what they ask ;)

NO a real man , to me, has more to do with how well one handles responsibilities, regardless of their 'gentleness' I married a 'real man' in my youth, although he wasnt what ID say was a gentleman a gentleman , to me, must both HANDLE responsibility and have a reverence/respect for women as MORE than a tool for their ego or sexual desires,,, MUCH MORE<,,, enough respect to not call them out their name enough respect to be faithful to them enough respect to open a car door, or offer their jacket enough of a gentleman to take their arm or their hand often enough respect to walk her home, or to her door ,,,,,,little displays of apprecation that make the difference between just a man and a true gentleman my mom seems to always find gentlemen and I have a cousin who has found herself one as well,,, Im still working on it,,,, |

Might want to provide that, so people can let you know if they think a gentleman is the same. |

Well, a lot of women do say that they don't need a man to be their protector. But deep down, they truly want that. Not saying all women are like this, but there are those who are. |

I know what you mean however, there is a difference between 'need' and 'want' life experience is teaching me I dont actually 'need' a man, I can figure out anything without one that I can figure out with one however I would 'prefer' a man do certain things, protection is one of them,, |

Wanting it is different than needing it, though. Maybe they don't actually need it and can take care of themselves, but like having a man around to help take care of them? |

What is the stigma with a woman wanting someone to look out for them? We all desire this. Even a man does. |

But more importantly- look at how I spelt respect- rezspeoect- i hate this Mac. |

I agree with what Mightymoe wrote. A woman can make a man ten times better when she stands by him. And good point Singmesweet. But I will ask this. Why are some women so defiant in making it known that they don't want, or need a man to do that when they know they truly would desire it? Why the hassle to put up a front? Lol. |
