I remember posting about how Muslims treat their women and female children. I was told, by liberals, it was none of our business. They have their own cultures. It's ok to sexually mutilate children. I remember posting about how Muslims treat their women and female children. I was told, by liberals, it was none of our business. They have their own cultures. It's ok to sexually mutilate children. It was ok that a mother held he 13 year old daughter down so her husband could rape her. Surely, if liberals have said it's ok to sexually mutilate children, you have direct quotes from them backing that up. There is no twisting anything. Just asking you to provide proof of what you've said. |

I'm not a liberal, and while I disagree with harming a child in any way, shape or form, I also believe that should it be another nations custom (some countries bind feet, heads, extend lips and ears of children, pierce, tattoo, etc), it IS NOT our right to condemn or condone their cultural difference.
If the people of said country/culture wish to make it an issue, stand for or against a practice within their culture, it IS their choice, NOT OURS!! We ARE NOT "holier than thou" with a right to impose, just a different belief or adherence to moral standards! A plea for help may change involvement by popular vote, but again, who decides, and why? If we start dictating the morals of other nations, other religions, or cultures, we must be willing as well to accept such sanctions on ourselves... The Golden Rule! We are the youngest nation on the planet....by what right do we impose? Force of arms? |

She was referring I think to posting your picture under her US flag representation as "nasty", to imply the US as the culprits of the atrocity. We may be in some cases since war is full of atrocities, but we are not the ONLY ones of course. WAR IS HELL! I tried to express my understanding of her post by saying your picture should have been a separate post from hers. Both were valid posts, but should have been separated. As passions flair it is easy to make errors in judgement. Call it an error,  kiss and make up....or I'll send you both to your rooms!

"War is hell." - William Tecumseh Sherman Correct me if I am wrong but are you the one who said that killing was OK for Economic advantage No, I never said that. I never wrote that. I said that oil is worth going to war for, because without oil millions of Americans would die of starvation and disease. I don't believe we should go to war to steal oil, but we should definitely go to war to protect our oil suppliers or the flow of oil through international waters. This isn't the way I want things to be, but I'm a realist. Open up our own oil fields and we won't have to go to war over oil ever again. Is is said that America uses 32% of world oil reserves and constitutes 5% of the worlds population, that being true do you still maintain that it is OK to Kill for Oil Supplies? On the consumption side, the USA nearly triples the next biggest user, China. China has 4.3 times as many people we use and uses 1/3 the oil. Americans use nearly 13 times more oil per capita than the Chinese. |
