is this going to be the next trend in crime/self defense?

That article said absolutely nothing about the situation leading to the shooting.

I think the trend here is in reporting.

Regardless of what actually happened, a) he attacked her, or b) he did not, this has been going on since human beings could create weapons.

thats true, the difference is in the reporting

however, its possible that reporting sometimes leads to a trend of whats 'acceptable' or 'cool' in this age of technology

whats significant here is the kid was on the phone to 911 while the shooting continued,, that kind of makes what lead up to it irrelevant,, in my opinion

I have not heard the tape, but phones being mobile devices id say its fully possible (although unlikely) to be assaulting someone while on the phone.

I will not judge until I have the facts of the case.

IM judging there was other choices, especially while he was on the phone, than to continue shooting,,

we all do

truth be told

because its almost always true that there is more than ONE choice, especially a choice to shoot someone EIGHT TIMES , FIVE OF THEM While they are talking on a phone,,,

no, we all don't

hopefully the truth is told eventually, so anything said before is speculation

usually there is more than one choice. fight or flee are two choices. one could even speculate that this grandmother knew that an insanity plea is easier to sell when you fire every round in the weapon than if you just fire one or two rounds

Exactly, who knows. I can come up with a dozen ideas to explain the tiny bit of info we received, its stupid to pretend we know anything about this case.

really? so you NEVER have an opinion about someones innocence or guilt before 'ALL THE EVIDENCE' is in,,,?

I find it as hard to believe as those who claim to never lie,,,
