Considering what just happened yesterday, I'm suddenly much more nervous about making friends on this site. Anyone else feel the same way?

No, not really. People can be pretenders anywhere.

I am since hearing about it. Yeah. :(. The more further away someone is, the more dodgy it could get. Living further away from a lover could make it much more easier for them to hide and be whoever they want. I can move on from it, but i have yet to be convinced that dating anyone from online is safe.

A friend is a freind, if they decide to throw their life away, then that's their choice.

No because I do not want a relationship with anyone from here. I am only looking for friends and then I doubt I would ever meet anyone in person. I like my simple life and just being single!!!

Nope. I don't let a single person ruin an experience for me. And since I am only here mostly to kill time more than anything else, it does not effect me much.

Not at all. I've met some truly wonderful people here and on other social sites as well. Yes, of course, you need to be cautious. But like some others have said, unfortunately it can happen in real life as well.

I'm not nervous at all. I already have the love of my life, my baby daughter. I may well lose my other love of my life (her mom) by her choice and actions but this daddy lifestyle is actually something I've tried to have for more than a quarter of a century. Oh, you mean nervous about meeting people online. Yea, I'm not going there again. It's more about clearing my head over this past week and making sure my baby girl is happy and safe. Next to that, having another dysfunctional relationship based on the communications online with a total stranger who is usually single for a reason with a lack of retrospection seems far fetched.
