It is the generally accepted belief of most biblical scholars that if Jesus would return today he would not recognize himself in modern teaching. But remember that he gave you two commandments: 1. love G-d and 2. love one another.

It is good to debate things, it helps people grow. Even if we disagree on how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, we should remember to love G-d and love one another. That after all is the point, not whether my take of the bible is more truer than yours, that is not as important as what is in your heart.

Sometimes I am reminded of this when I work with addicts, who tell me they are on such and such a step of the 12 steps and all I think of is that- I think they skipped the first one.

Yes very true, We are told to even hang the prophets and all other laws on those two laws. Meaning the other laws don't matter if you just obey those two. The rest would come naturally with obeying just those two.

True words of wisdom.

The lyrics are thought provoking.

{"The lyrics are thought provoking".}

Only if you have NO faith in the salvation of the Lord!
So many, so easily influenced and eager to find gurus; rather than trust God's Word!
Lord, open blind eyes!

This is a "Christian" forum!
The Gospel will not be compromised here!
If you don't agree with God's Word, the General Religion Forum is next door!

The image in this post was not signifying
anyone being kicked out of the forum.
The foot was entering a room.

And as for the gospel "not being compromised",
I see that I cannot speak for ALL "Christians" in this forum...

but surely I thought I spoke for most.

As the Bible surely does not mention any suggestion to heaven being a place of burning.

The previous postee's entry of the "though-provoking" "youtube" song titled "Will We Burn in Heaven?" seemed to be
(as often happens in the "religion forum")
the beginning of a succession of "trolling" statements.
Or even in support of the denial that the Word of God is inerrant.

Perhaps I should have asked him what his take was on such a title or it's lyrics.
Did he feel that the song had some encouraging implications for Christians?

I'm sorry if I have been taken as one who always thinks she's right
and anyone who opposes is wrong.
That is not how I feel.

I simply believe the Word is right ALL the time!

The OP, who is "an evangelist", from time to time takes a moment to post a loving plea
for those who may not realize that they may obtain forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ.

He sometimes reminds us what the scripture mentions is the opposite of salvation.

At no time has he shown hatred nor disdain toward anyone here.

Often my intentions are mistaken in the same manner.

There was no condemnation made toward anyone on my part, although those who take offense in me may see it as such.

My intentions are now and always have been to encourage a fellowship of believers in this forum
since Christian conversation is unwelcomed in the "religion" forum accept to debate and to avert it.

I will not accuse any of you of being judgmental.

I only ask of all...

"Let everyone be honest and judge also your own selves...
in how you respond...
and whether you are opposing God's Holy Word...

Keep your eyes on Jesus!
