On a date is it a requirement for a couple to do something that requires spending money? Would the date be any less romantic if absolutely no money was spent?

On a date is it a requirement for a couple to do something that requires spending money? Would the date be any less romantic if absolutely no money was spent? I imagine it is those that are conditioned by the "media" to spend money that expect a date to cost money. Why we are drawn to extravagance to impress a date is beyond me. Much respect for the person with imagination and who has mastered the art of improvisation...but that's just me |

Nope a Date can be romantic like walking at a park, going on a hike or bike ride simple is Good in my book! Me too. Like movies you can't really talk to the person. Dinner you can't talk while eating. Even coffee, you can't really really talk because there are people around. One of my best dates?? We went shopping separately at the Asian market. We came back home and drank organic coffee and stayed up until 2 AM talking and drinking coffee and listening to music. |

I spent my last date walking around a park. I hadn't done that for a while and it made a nice change from the norm. |

My mistake is dating guys that don't exercise and after taking a walk with me; there is no second date. |

On a date is it a requirement for a couple to do something that requires spending money? Would the date be any less romantic if absolutely no money was spent? a date is about spending time together. ITs not about the money spent. So even sitting in an apartment with a cable movie and some popcorn,, or going to a frree museum and a walk in the park,, would still be 'dates' |

I believe donating time for a cause with someone gets you to see a different side of someone and no money spent, plus you get to talk a lot.

Nah. Money is so not required in a date.
And besides, there are so many ways in expressing your love to each other without spending a dime such as serenading, simply saying those 3 words. . .Small things are more counted if you only appreciate the thought that comes with it. |

It is very hard to come by women with your kind of mind. You are very thoughtful hope you find a better man to mingle with

That's not to say that i won't enjoy being pampered or spoilt on a date. I can be very gracious if he made the effort of putting some thought into organising an evening out for just us two.

Nope, spending money is not a requirement. It's the thought that counts. Time to talk is important.

Actually I am more impressed by someone who spends no money and lets his company make the imprssion than how much money he can throw around.
Yes it is occasionally nice to go out and be treated in a reciprocal relationship but one thing that makes me wonder about what a future would be like with someone is spending way too much money on trying to impress a strabge in a way that would have to have some kind of detrimental effect to the average person's budget. You just know life is always going to be drama and a lot of it not good. Even if the gentleman can comfortably afford a major dating budget I find it kind of insulting if it starts to feel like I am being bribed to like them. Novody makes that much money. |

If I like someone I enjoy taking them to the Botanical Gardens. The Japanese pavilion has koi you can feed.

I'm less impressed what someone spends than the heart they put into the effort. No money required.

Those of you who know me know my concept of time/money. That time is worth money esp. to the self employed, etc. People who are busy, etc. I am much more flattered if someone wants to spend time with me than lay down a wad of cash on movie tickets where we don't get to talk and dinner where we can't talk cause our mouths are full and it's not polite.
