Thank you all for the prayers, and well wishes. I think they're being heard. I have an interview tomorrow after school for a job. It's nothing fancy, but will certainly help out. I usually end up getting hired after I go for an interview, so I'm not really nervous or anything, but I don't want to get too excited just yet.

Not the job I want, but it's better than nothing, and the company is worldwide, so I'm not stuck in this area, and I can even look into possibly transferring outside of the country. That would be nice, since I would like to move out of the U.S. some day, if possible. |

Great to hear and keep thinking of some questions for them and of possible scenarios they may place you in, like the wrong parts arriving and you have an irrate customer facing, etc.. Good Luck..

Good Luck.. I have previous experience in a related field, and I'm naturally good with customers, so I don't think there will be any issues. I really can't think of anything to ask that hasn't been covered already. I'm always customer oriented, even when not dealing with the client face to face. After all, with them them a company will not go very far. |

TY, I went in for the UA today. I'm waiting for them to call me for orientation now. I don't think they would order a UA if they weren't going to hire me. I told them what was on my record and wrote it down, so they won't be surprised when they do the background check, which they were getting ready to do as I went for lab, so once they get the results back, they should call me.

The very best of luck. I hope you get the job  What is UA? At least you were open and honest about your record so I'm sure that will work in your favor. Over here, employers DO NOT have the right to get a background check on anyone. Only the individual can do this. You MUST have this IF you work with children. We call it ''Garda Vetting'' and I have to have this because I work with kids. And it must be renewed every year. |

Some companies have a no tobacco policy, and will test for that as well, but this one was just for illegal drugs. Most employers order them when they're serious about hiring someone. They do it mostly for insurance purposes. |

They do it mostly for insurance purposes. I think Ireland and America are just SO different. We have different ways of doing things and what you're describing just WOULDN'T happen here. The only job really that would test for illegal drugs would be the ARMY in which they do RANDOM tests, but that's it really. Since I've joined this site, I am learning SO much... |

I hope things have been getting better. @>-->---- Believe it or not I am a pretty tough cookie, but I just need to vent kinda gal.......If I go for a walkabout dont worry and dont follow and give me some breathing space......doesnt take me long I just need to deal with my emotions.....it saves me from saying negative things and purges it for me......meditation more than anything makes me regain my calm.......... |
