Hey y'all. I'm a new song writer, and have come up with some songs I would like to try and get noticed. They are all definitely country songs. I want to know who I need to try and pitch these songs to? Who do I contact? I hope someone has something useful for me. Thanks!

I'm not the business so I know little. However, I have heard of several aspiring artists who would record a song with their own equipment (don't forget the copyright) and give it to their favorite local radio DJ. If it's good and the DJ likes it, the ball might start rolling.

well that sounds like somewhere to start. However, im not a singer or musician, I just write the lyrics and can put a melody to them. I'm not really expecting to make it anywhere with performing, but if that's what I have to do to get the songs I wrote noticed, I better start practicing. Haha.

Your local radio stations should be able to help advertise your music. The local papers, too. Oh and making posters and placing them in shop windows :)

Hi,
It's not easy my friend, I've been doing it for years. I'm a professional musician who has worked with Bowie, Neil Young and done lots of session work.

I'm retired now, but still work as a singer/songwriter/composer. I write and record all my songs and backing tracks at home myself using computers, 50w amp, studio mike, keyboard and all the instruments.

If you want to promote your songs, you will have to arrange the backing tracks and vocals, get them recorded to a good quality, copyright them and email copies to internet, local and national radio stations.

There are many internet sites where you can upload and sell your tracks. If you Google my name (Peter Coia) you will see the sites I use to promote my work. One of the best is

http://www.reverbnation.com/petercoia

You can go there and listen to some of my recordings and if you need to ask anything, there are contact links on the site.

Good luck my friend,
Peter

I'm sorry to break this to ya, but if you wanna make it in country....
Find a job....any job in Nashville, and hit the row. Play the locals and get yourself noticed!!
NOBODY In Music in Nashville will take a demo, unless you are playin the locals!!!!
It is just the way the Nashville #'s works!!!!
