I think you over evaluate some issues and under evaluate others.... it's your logic, I don't agree with it much, but I respect your right to it. Most people are black and white about things however. I'm a "street smart" kinda guy....as most are, I see it and refuse to step in it. Books "teach" it's not good, but street learners have a little better idea what to look for.

Uncle Tom was a noble hero, who encouraged a fellow slave to escape from her cruel master and then allowed himself to be beaten to death rather than tell her evil master where she went. Uncle Tom's cabin fired up the Abolitionist movement to the point that Abraham Lincoln credited the author with starting the Civil War. Uncle Tom was a heroic Christian character and I think it says a lot about modern black culture that he is now seen as weak and the term "Uncle Tom" is used as an insult.
