Best band i would say Marillion,period of 1983-1987,best name in the music probably Mike Oldfield

There are so many great bands which sang many great songs that we listen even today.i cant tell which are the best,but i can name few,i think i can affor that because of my huge collection in my home and my dedication to musuc.so here are few : led.z,marillion,pink floyd,queen,eloy,jethro tull,wishboneash,yes,king crimson,ufo,scorpions and there are many many more but the best and one and only is mike oldfield.:)

I bought his latest opus, a bit twee but excellent muscianship all the same.

That is impossible to answer! I love Pixies, Dead Kennedys, Nirvana, Hole, Clutch, list goes on and on, I can't pick just one!

I suppose you are right but metal has moved on.Maiden are still churning out the same old stuff as are AC/DC. Queen until Freddies death will always be my favourite band but i now listen to Slipknot, Sepultura, Fu**ed up, mastodon, opeth, Motionless in white, Diablo swing orchestra, Korn. The list is endless. PS how many bands have the nations favourite song by them on mainstream TV. The nations favourite Queen song is on ITV1 tonight at 21.00 hours
