I took a class in the late 60's.. It was a class for weight loss but I was having a problem with my nerves and the dr suggested it so I could put myself under so I could relax... The class was in Dec and not only did it help my nerves but I lost 12 lbs (during the holidays yet).. I would put myself under while sitting in a recliner and my kids would check on me to see if I was still alive..bigsmile I still do it if I have a stressful day...I am one that goes under very easy..

There was one lady that freaked out the first night and the dr refused to let her continue.. We found out later she was dealing with the death of her daughter...

Hypnosis is another state of conciousness and if you have a brain you can be hypotized regardless of what you may think.

So...I have no brain?

I was wondering where that went. Haha.

Tried it numerous times from professionals. Each time being a failed attempt. So, suffice it to say I'm pretty skeptical about it.
i not sure if it works with everyone either ,some say it works others say it don't :)me to i think it almost like mind over matter if you think its working then your body reacts that way lollllllll

Whats your opinion on hypnotism and did you know people even try hypnotise ones self? do you think it works? waving

IF you and the one hypnotizing you both believe and are open to it, yes it MAY work.

I've personally tried it on myself and that hasn't worked. I will never try it with someone else doing the hypnotizing, I do not trust anyone enough to be that vulnerable, and after my failed attempts on myself, that has made me skeptical of it working on me.

It seems like a form of meditation, which may explain my personal failures with it. I have attempted meditation techniques similar to hypnosis, and failed.

lol I have high anxiety for one thing, so can't relax enough. I don't even trust the videos and other guides that others have made to help.

I didn't get the piano yet, but may get it tomorrow, we'll see.

I have been hypnotised by someone where I used to work who'd been but I can't say it was something that I would pay for...I'd rather have acupuncture.

I've had a panic/anxiety attack once before, but sometimes I'll fear that one is going to come on or is happening. It's typically in situations where normal stress/anxiety may be a little high, but not really bad.

Like for example today I went to the store and their cash register was down for about five minutes, the line was really long and as I was waiting and they were fixing the issue, I felt like I was going to have an attack, or that maybe one was happening. I had to look at my phone to see the time and wait a minute and look at it again to calm down, that usually helps.

Another example is that I met a friend of my friend. The guy was nice and we were all at his house. I was extremely nervous for no legitimate reason, just really high anxiety. I had to look at the clock and look at it again to calm down.

At school and work, it can get bad too. If there's a big crowd, a lot going on at once, etc. Sometimes I'll have to go to the restroom to calm down. I'll just wash my hands for a few minutes as an excuse to stay in the restroom and calm down.

well my friend sounds like you have a bit of demophobia a fear of crowds you start to feel nervous and or anxious and why you wash hands is like a compulsive thing to release stress some touch things over and over others may look at a phone several times to relieve it like you did a lot of people have this my friend :) just try taking deep breaths or say in your mind everything is going to be ok :) it's hard and if people never been through it or felt it they don't understand i saw friends go through it i also studied it a bit and read a lot :) cheers waving biggrin  sometimes to putting your mind on something else helps but facing the problem is best :) if you can:)it takes time

I know someone who tried to quit smoking this way.
He doesn't smoke anymore but still gets the urge to.
Everytime he gets that urge, he strips to his underwear and runs around clucking like a chicken. This usually lasts about a half hour and he stops.....looks around dazed and goes looking for his clothes.
It's sad really.........
Hypnosis..........NO THANKS!!!!!
Those people can't be....Trusted!!!!!

I have severe depression, I think that has more to do with it. Mind over matter does not work with me, nor does breathing exercises. I've tried. I've been through all kinds of counseling and therapy my whole life.

i hear you bro see it depends what your depressed about my friend some depression will always be there if its a lost of a loved one, or other serious issues health, one good way is to face it head on and talk to others that feel your pain too , that are sincere and respect your feelings and been through things :) to me i think meds are a cover up just to help you through in a time of need i think honest true friends that know how you feel and you let out why your depressed helps sometimes more then doctors it did for me in past when i lost my Dad :) i still not over him but then again i never will in my books he help so many people but my friend i feel for you it takes time think positive cheers
