The first few days on here , yep I gave it out easily, but learnt quickly that that is dumb, I changed my email.
So now, there are a few people who I have, but not many.
It's the same with facebook, people who I enjoy talking to on here, I like to add as I can see what they are up to and see their family, It's nice.

I'm picky about who I add to facebook.

How long? That depends on how it goes , If the person wants to get to know more about me and if I feel the same about them , I doubt there's a time limit , it comes naturally ... Most my friends on here got my number and my FB ... Whoever wants my friendship can have it but I don't shove it down their throats :)

I have a facebook page for anyone Thats because I like to play games and need friends. Then I have one for closer friends and family, I have a few of my best Mingle friends on there.
But theres really nothing in my life thats a secret so really the world can see.

I dont give my email out since I have this one on site. When I prep for a meetup, I give my cel in case something happens or one of us is lost etc. I use it for texting. I hate phone conversations.

Yeah, I'm usually fine keeping in touch via the site. But for some people I stay in touch with often, it's easier to do via email, since I can't always access the site.

I wait till we have gotten to know each other well and just kinda let things take course.
If we have been chatting it up for a while....we will know when we feel comfortable to move to the phone.
I do enjoy putting voices to faces.....
but never in a hurry.
Just gotta both build a comfort for it, then it happens!!!
JMO

How long does it take to get comfortable with each other? A few days? Weeks? Months?

Normally???
I am way too easy, but I wait till she feels comfortable enough with me, if that is a week, 2 or a month.....then thats what it takes!!
I don't rush, she will tell me when she is ready!!

How long does it take you to give out additional contact information to people you get to know on sites like this? Will you give your email address, or IM screen name to someone you chat with here? How long does it take you to give your phone number out? What about making plans to meet?

This could be for someone you want to be friends with or >>>want to date.<<< well lets see if i want to take a lady out on a date i really got to get to know her well and talk to her a lot now if i meeting as a friend thinking about dating her i still like to know her lolll :) i guess i thought it had to do with dating sorry i saw the want to date there too :))))))) and on a lot mails its so many ask about e-mails cause on date site and some ask for number cause they say they would like to date lolllll but i say i need to know u first and some say maybe we can meet and date a bit lollll i guess thats why i thought it was about dating:)rofl flowerforyou

Email or IM first. See how that goes for a couple weeks. Then graduate to text messaging. & finally a few actual phone conversations before actually meeting in person.

I never understood the whole "waiting" process. If you wanna get to know me & eventually meet up then don't beat around the bush & then get all scared before a planned meeting. If someone is THAT paranoid that everyone is out to "stalk" them, or "creep them out", then they probably shouldn't have a profile up saying that they want to "meet someone".

Just sayin...

For me it's about getting along with someone. It doesn't have to do with dating. One if my favorite people I got yo know over the phone rather than through the site.

I'm usually pretty leery about the whole thing. Unless it's someone I've dealt with on line for awhile (decades) and I'm reasonably certain they're not up to something underhanded.

There are a handful of people here who have my mailing address and/or phone number. Not many. And it's been good, because none of them have tried to trick me into anything. Yet.

((((SexyLexy))))smooched  flowers waving
Dont mind me...Just dropped in for my daily Stalk.

No complaints here -- without my stalkers, I'd be completely ignored!

I'll usually chat on here for a while and given that things are well, I'll provide my facebook page.
I did give it out fairly quickly for one person who inquired about e-mail address or IM screen name, if only because they seemed fairly trustworthy as one of the frequent posters. Plus, it's just my facebook page... I can edit the settings whenever for privacy.

I hardly use my e-mail, so Facebook just made more sense to me. That and there's multiple settings lot of people don't seem all that aware of for filtering privacy and such.
With no offense to this site, I view it as somewhat like upgrading from here.

I use my email all the time and it just works better as a way to get to know someone for me. I see facebook and this kind of site as two completely different kinds of sites. I don't use facebook as a way to meet new people. This kind of site is a way to meet new people.

To each their own.
I'm not listing them as the same kind of site, just that it's an upgrade for me in the way that becoming someone's friend is an upgrade from being an acquaintance.
