yep--- i would expect my friend do the same for me

would depend on the friend...some of them would absolutely wish to know, while others...well, they wouldn't.

of course, ALL my friends know that to ask my opinion...is to get it. if they ask, that means they are READY to know.

i wouldn't go for the blackmail-like stuff, like mt suggested...because that could be played against me. i'd contrive the situation for him/her to definitely get caught...and then my friend could make up his own mind.

er...and then there's always the question of HOW you knew. um...i had a pretty decent friend...who was dating a total ass. i could so see him being like...the demon from hell. anyhow...i was at red's house...this guy i was hooking up with, and demon-boy was there with his EX girlfriend...my friend being nowhere around. this weird man came over, and my friends all disappeared into the bedroom, leaving me alone with him.

not wishing to sit there with this whacko, i went into the bedroom with the others. um...i ended up getting a bit busy with my guy-friend, as demon-boy and ex-chickie got down. er...i might have kept my mouth shut, if he hadn't told me i didn't have to balls to tell my friend.

so then i'm in the position of telling her that i know for a fact that her man is cheating...and at the same time, explaining how. she stayed with him, of course...and we didn't speak for two years...when he had beaten her so badly she couldn't walk.

*shrugs* live and learn, i guess.

so lulu would think about teling her he is a hoe but would have to weigh the merits of each side of her knowing whether or not he is a hoe. hey. what if she is the hoe? lol

lol...it depends on the situation. in the end, i told her...even though it placed me in a very uncomfortable situation and cost me a friendship. i'd rather have complete and total honesty...more important to me, any day.

in the end...the only one i HAVE to live with is myself.

my best friend and i are the same, if i don't like the guy she's with, i tell her, if she doesn't like the guy im with, she tells me..

Good point, Lulu. With my drug related past of friends don't narc on friends it was one of the things I had to learn new on being honest with myself. I had to learn who my true friends were and I don't get that involved in their business. I got my own problems to deal with without getting involved into someone else's problems. I am getting new friends but I haven't seen any one of them cheating on each other. Of course, I should take this as a hypothetical question. In that case if it was happening to me I would want to know so then if I had a friend I am sure they would want to know, too.

It's not really a tough decision for me, I'd tell the friend. I might lose the friend that way, but I don't really have a choice. To me, it's about what is right, and what isn't. To let my friend be deceived like that is unacceptable.

I think of it this way, if my friend wanted to buy a car, and I could tell that he was about to be ripped off, I would tell my friend what I knew to be true and why...if they didn't believe me I'd drop the issue and let make their decision.

Basically this is just a more verbose version of Allsmiles comment, but it was a comment worth repeating.
