Topic: I an old guy, but new here, please rate me. | |

What would you suggest I do with my profile to make me interesting and out there?

Dude, don't take it the wrong way...don't ask people to rate you. The only people who will, are the rude and judgmental types who see a target. Insecurity is unattractive. Stop begging for sympathy. It has nothing to do with your appearance; but it sends a bad message to people regarding your self-esteem.
My advice...chill and be yourself. No one can tell you "how to be more interesting." That's up to you to figure out. When you do, then it's real; because it came from within. Not from the suggestions of others. Be who you are, not what other people want you to be. I'm 58. I just joined too. There will be one out of a million who will see me for who I am and appreciate it. I'm patient enough to wait. Be you. I'm gay, not straight. You're not a bad looking guy. Put on a smile in your pic, and just be real. Nuff said bro. |

Nuff said bro. with all due respect here earnest...but isn't that statement rude and judgemental?? lol magicman ~ since the goal of a profile is to have it read and be attractive to someone, i see nothing wrong with asking for feedback. i like the whole magic spin on yours, maybe break the paragraph up a bit to make it easier to read, tell the world what you're looking for, and then sit back and watch the magic happen :) welcome! |

The text is too bi-polar. If you could contain the thoughts to paragraphs, thumbs up.
Good stuff there. Shame if she didn't read it cause it all ran together. |

Hiya, I have to say that the block text deterred me from doing anything than briefly skim your profile..sorry Not quite sure how to fix that, however I'll give it a go. I must admit I have trouble with English and adjusting to making things gramerically correct. English is not my first language, but Im learning. Thanks so much everyone for your help. Really, it's not that bad at all. As an old woman who would be interested in you if you weren't 3000 miles away, I thought it was a little confusing at the beginning but got better and better as I read. I wouldn't know from reading it that English wasn't your first language.
Personally I think either of the pictures showing the full gray beard is better than the one you have as #1 now, but that's just my personal preference. It's great that you have multiple photos. If you really still aren't happy with the wording of your profile, e-mail me and I can suggest some things (editing is part of my job). But I don't think there's anything wrong with what you've got. It shows your personality, which is more than a lot of people do. Good luck! |

Bravalady, thankyou and so very nice of you to make that offer. I also like the picture with the full beard and it is most what I look like today. However a friend suggested that I use the other picture. If you werent 3000 miles away I would like to meet, if only for coffee. I enjoy intelligent conversation and friendly company over coffee. Thanks for the compliment on my English, Hebrew is my first language, then Yiddish, Russian, German, then English.

Thankyou, Plattsburgh is a great school and my daughter went to college here. I taught some theater classes also. I will try to spend time on the forums, however I have some magic shows comming up that will drag me away. Uri |

That is truly impressive. And also says a lot about you. |
