Not looking for pity or sympathy or anything just a understanding heart this is the real me it took alot for me to post this I hope you understand why.

(big gulp)i got into 2 car accidents as a child 1 when i was 14 months old 16 months in a coma 1 when i was 18 2 days in the hospital, because of the first 1 i can't walk very well or talk all that great but i still survive on my own. i can not drive either (witch is why i wrote the poem on this site "Five Block Cell") I live in a small ghetto town where there isn't anything to do and i have to depend on "friends" or "family" to go anywhere outside of this town

i think i can understand where your comming from, i was in a short term relationship with this guy that was in a semi accedent 8yrs ago as where the issue of his mobilty and speach didnt show up untill 3yrs ago and he has a very warm loving heart. its just that i felt emotionally he couldnt hand my problems as well of his.. and i was not told by him or his mother about a issue that i should had been told, as his sister told me do to the accedent he had it cause more damage as where they have predicted that he can die any time, and resontly he was in hospitol where he had a blood clot that was from his privates down to his ankle... and the main problem was that before i even met him he told me he was in love with me, well thats fine, but you cant force the other to say the same thing back, i care about him but i dont love him, and that is what he wanted.. he went through a divorce about 6months ago as where he was married for 24yrs something like that and she cheated on him a number of times. well i can see how of a gentleman he is and if he didnt have any problems as for what i was told how he was i know i would had stuck with him.. even if i was to get married again and the man i was married to ended up that way like you or the guy i was with i would stick with him. its just that he couldnt emotionally be supportive, maybe in some ways but not what im wanting.. i admit he has a good heart. but he wont talk to me anymore. because he hurt which i understand, but i cant tell him something that i know isent right.sad brokenheart

You seem like a smart guy so I'm sure you will do just fine in life. I've known a few people with disabilities and in every case, they were great people. One of them is a writer for newsweek magazine in fact. bigsmile

Before I became a mommy, I spent over 8 years working with adults with physical disabilities. I've learned as a human to not dwell on what someone can't do, but celebrate all they can do. :) Good Lucka. -Erin
