Who said?... Not since Caligula appointed his horse as a consul of Rome has there been a more inappropriate appointment than Tony Blair as the peace envoy for the Middle East.

My son asked me something the other day and it made me think,"Dad why can man make war,religion,satelites,racism and all these inventions that help the world,but yet they can't make world peace?" The only answer i could give him was "Well because some of things you mention that man made is the reason we can't have world peace."

Peace will arrive much quicker when there are no profits from murdering innocents. Name a time in the history of human civilization that innocents weren't being murdered for profit or land.. It is not like this is something new or recent.. You know.. Darwin's survival of the fittest..

Caligula was very tall, with spindly legs and a thin neck. His eyes and temples were sunken and his forehead broad and glowering. His hair was thin and he was bald on top, though he had a hairy body (during his reign it was a crime punishable by death to look down on him as he passed by, or to mention a goat in his presence). He wasn't exactly a specimen of fitness now was he.

Our history has been dominated by cultures which considered it okay to 'own' other human beings, including their own women, and cultures which thought that forms of rape (modern definition) was perfectly fine, cultures which were very indiscriminate in their view of 'situations in which murder was acceptable'.... Most modern cultures are maturing past all of that - we can also mature past needless warmongering.
