It's time for a witch-hunt!

Who needs facts?

Its more fun to accuse people, hate people, demonize people based on allegations.

We have nothing here except the allegations of bereaved parents.

true as well

that is why I said there was not enough information

but culturally, if it happened in a place where locking a door in a room that has a child in it is deplorable,, no more information would be needed,,,

Oh, you are talking about the question of whether or not its okay to lock a child in a room, or a bathroom.

I was talking about the accusation that the school is somehow responsible for his death.

You are right, in both cases we should have facts before making accusations.

But re: cause of death, I think the need for caution before making accusations is even greater, and there is even less evidence.

She too means that accusation of school is obvious.

Fact is that the child is no more & he was been punished & during punishment he fall incautious.

The real question is,why shall they punish the children so hard??

has it been proven that he 'fell incautious' during that punishment?

the question is subjective as different people have different standards of what 'harsh' is,,,,

child was found by his elder brother Sagar lying unconscious in the bathroom. Ever since, he was unwell. After remaining ill for over 55 days, he died.

According to the parents.

Maybe its true.

Maybe he was ill before, and the parents didn't know.

Maybe he was ill before, and the parents knew, and they just want to blame the school.

This has nothing to do with whether or not it was appropriate for him to be locked into the bathroom.

One can criticize them for doing that
.... without accusing them of killing the kid.

One can point out that: there is no evidence that there is a connection between the bathroom and the death
.... without defending the bathroom incident.

I understand your point & we can point out several other points too to defend the accused

As a society member our effort shall always be to dominate & kill bad tendencies & habits which causes harm to our society.

If we support & protect every nuisance done by accused then they find it much easier every time to do next crime.

This happening must be taken as an eye opening incidence & any kind of physical punishments in schools shall be considered as offense.

Yes. Like libel, slander, and loud, public, presumptive accusations.

I'm not sure if you refer to (a) the bathroom incident or (b) the supposed connection to the child dying.

For (a) I haven't bothered arguing much against the reliability of evidence of the bathroom incident, but even there we should first be certain that we have our facts straight before using it to motivate reform.

And, of course, this is especially true of (b).

Prevention is always better than cure.

Let's assume that the teacher didn't punished the child & even the child too not died.

My question is why shall not we insist for effective reforms there which will monitor & avoid any such probable happening in future?

To me, this question is almost off topic. I thought this thread was about a school being blamed for a child's death. If someone thinks that we should have reforms, they should make their case using reliable evidence, not baseless accusations.

Its been some time since this story has come out. Have they investigated? Have they determined anything? Have they done an autopsy? Have they gathered testimony indicating that he was or was not sick before the bathroom incident? I ask because I am not saying that the parents story is wrong, only that it is insufficient evidence. Maybe the parents are right.

Back to your question:

I feel that we should have good cause for reform, other than 'hypothetical dangers'. That said, they don't have to wait until a child actually gets hurt in india - if india doesn't already have strict rules in place regulating the treatment of children at public schools, they can look to other countries. Other countries have gone through periods of having different kinds and levels of regulations, and have suffered different kinds of consequences as a result.

The lesson learned (if any) from a topic can't be termed as off topic.Prevention is always better than cure so if we can predict some chances of miss-happening & plan for some preventive actions then what is the problem? It is true that there could be some unwanted side effects too but we shall try designing a system to remove all probable bugs therein.

It is true that the incidence is happened in india & we shall study & implement effective norms, but I believe there are many more countries on the globe who shall learn the lesson from this.
