Doesn't anyone find it strange this place is called a dating site when if you take the time to look around it's nothing more than a chat forum?go figure maybe dating isn't dating anymore,people lost touch with how the dating scene works with all the technology and gadgets. This thread here is for those looking for someone. Pleease keep chat to a minimum and act as though you're meeting you're date the first time here. Be professional,real and see where it takes you.

Why keep chat to a minimum? Isn't it needed when getting to know new people? I would think that's the purpose for the forums.

No this is not a chat site. This is not a chat thread therefore i will not have it turned into one of the other million threads. Preferably keep the chat related to the purpose of meeting someone special, not talk about Jack Joe and the neighbors. Tell about yourself what you like to do etc. IM sure on a date you don't talk about a hospital visit.

I call it like it is this place is no more than a glorified chat forum that uses dating as a lure to draw people in but without the true intent of said nature. Call it what you will but the truth is the truth.

well this is something to consider...some women (even men) prefer to chat with someone before they meet. This is a crazy world we live in and maybe they want to get to know someone before the person turns into a serial killer

But seriously...I would rather get to know someone on here first. That way I know if there are things in common and a bit about them first

There are definitely people here who have met others through chatting in the forum. If you don't like it, that's cool. Email people or call them. Then meet. This site works in different ways for different people.

What i find hilarious, is people who come here and moan that Mingle2 apparentely "sucks". They then go to P.O.F or okCupid, and find those sites to be much worse. NOW which site SUCKS? I say either put in some effort getting to know people, if not then i'm not sure how people are expected to communicate. Some of these other dating site forums are a blood bath compared to this one. Quite honestly, the other dating sites hardly compare to the friendliness, and kindness of people on here. I'd not be too quick to jump ship :)

I guess it just depends on what you're looking for. Obviously, this site has worked well for some. Other sites work well for others. Okcupid is not bad, as there are many more locals there than here for me.

I have to agree with some of what is being said. when i signed up to this site, i Assumed it was a Dating site. Now, ive met some really Really nice guys on here but Because 99% of them are Not in my zone, a Date is not happening. I really like the chat/forum, but to me, this doesnt Feel like a dating site because I cant get to the ones i like.

There are sites (or there used to be -- I don't visit those anymore) where the forums are basically nothing more than war zones.
