Topic: Put down the scissors before... | |
---|---|
..someone gets hurt. So, after hearing that, I figured I'd seek some advice. Here's my supplies: Pen/Pencil Paper Lamp Lamp Shade Duct Tape Double-sided Tape Puffy Paint Pens My Objective: I have a band logo, the one in which I work for, that I want to paint/slap onto the lamp shade. I have the color array so that when the light is turned on, the way it projects through the logo will actually put the logo on the ceiling, or wherever the light is shining. I pretty much have free reign except one thing... "Don't make it look like it was drawn on." So, seeing as how that' an unrealistic statement, seeming as how I did draw it. I'm left assuming he means more along the lines of being drawn onto the lamp shade.. So, therefore.. Any ideas? D: |

If you want the logo to project onto the wall,
it sounds like you need scissors too. You could also 'cut out' the logo, and replace the removed section with a thin film of something, enough to let the light shine through so the logo appears on the wall? A cut-out logo would not look drawn on. |

A cut-out logo would not look drawn on. I was thinking that; however, I'm unsure what to actually use to stick on it for these reasons: 1. I don't want it to look 'cheap' either. 2. Don't want to worry bout it melting or bursting into flames. :O and above all... 3. I really wanna use my puffy paints. D: lol |

Hmmmm.
You could edge the cut edges with the paints. Customized. 'No heat' lightbulbs. |

Hmmmm. You could edge the cut edges with the paints. Customized. OHHH! You gave me an idea... If I cut out the logo on construction paper. Making sure to cut precise. I could stick it then on the lamp and paint around it. After it dries, take the construction paper the logo was cut from and match it up over top... ..that'd work right? Wouldn't look 'drawn'? |

Sort of, 3D?
Layered as it were. You could edge the construction-paper with your paints, to enhance that effect. |

Well, the construction paper wouldn't stay on..
..just a guideline so not to 'color outside the lines'. Ya know? |

Ahh.
Go for it :-) |
