I really do believe that brain chemicals and such attract us the opposite sex. I have always found myself hard wired and attracted to the guy who could hunt and protect back when I could have kids, my ovaries screamed at me every month when I saw some really rugged good looking good genetics man like "GO MAKE BABIES WITH THE SUPERIOR EXAMPLE OF GENETICS".

And like I have dated a lot of athletes, my hormones go crazy after some of them work out and have the sweat and musk smell. They talk about pheromones and I believe it. It's like screw cologne, go run a 5K, come home and don't shower.

Guys see me and picture me instantly as a baby momma which is funny as I am not but the soft cushy sweet looking girl puts ideas of babies in their head.

How much of attraction do you think has nothing to do with the thought process and everything to do to with genetics, etc.?

Like I needed another good reason to exercise.

I think there is probably a genetic element that makes people more 'susceptible' to certain tendencies than others, but I think it is environment mixed with experience and how our minds interpret and correlate experience that makes us who we are and builds up our preferences

much like certain smells can stimulate some feeling or another based upon how our mind correlates and remembers (even subconsciously) some past experience, I think our 'sexual' attractions are actually a subconsciously triggered response to subconscious memory of certain experiences and feelings

and then we TELL ourself over and over this is how we feel, or who we are,, and VOILA,, it becomes real,,,,

I believe people are hard wired a certain way.

Typically for me, more than the accept number of body parts or non-standard body parts are a bit of a turn off turnoff as it could indicate the person is a hostile alien attempting to steal my genetic material.

As far as the whole "genetic attraction based on perpetuation of the species" argument goes, I have no interest in that at all -- not only do I have no interest in reproducing, but women who display the colloquially-termed "breeder" physiques do absolutely nothing for me in terms of physical attraction.

Is this because of my "thought process" though? I'm not entirely sure -- there is a conscious awareness of it, yes, but my predisposition towards non-reproduction goes back farther than my ability to dissect it as a psychological phenomenon. So maybe there's an element in there somewhere that has roots in something more genetic than intellectual. I really couldn't say for sure.
