I don't know what would be worse about going to a NASCAR race. Being bored out of my mind at the cars going around in circles for hours, or being around all the redneck trash.

Athletics are, swimming, running, basketball, football, etc...

Being a race car driver is more of a skill.

rednecks is a state of mind...and a slur in any sense.....and nascar has far outgrown it's maybe "redneck" roots....there are more fans of the sport out there than you realize, from all walks of life. not that having a southern accent and a blue collar is a bad thing. those diehard fans are the ones that kept the sport going and helped it grow into the huge franchise that it has become today.

However NASCAR would be better if it stayed with it's roots. I don't like it, but it is an American thing. I hope it stays that way, even though I won't watch it.

You say anybody can drive. Anybody can play tennis,or play baseball, or play basketball or run track!!! It's the motor skills that you possess combined with the ability to compete and win against your advesaries that make it a sport. Racing is included in this category. There is a score being kept and there is competition between people. This includes the atheletes who perform the pit stops in 12 seconds.
As far as some of you feeling it is boring...don't watch it. There is a whole Nascar Nation out there that disagrees with your personal opinion. Don't go away mad...just go away. I hate Hockey and other ice sports. I don't watch it. It's that simple. Different strokes for different folks. America was built on diversity. Make your choice and stick with it. BUT!! Don't be a SCHMUCK and ruin it for others that enjoy the sport!

BR 749, Ove drove a car at 160 plus, which sucks compared to the race drivers and i can guarantee you that there are a row of athletes driving those cars. It aint like a video game, homer.
