One of the first things Hitler did in Germany was make German the official language. All other besides the United States have official languages, but other languages are spoken and written there without persecution. No one is saying you can't speak other languages, what this is proposing is that all government documents be available only in English i.e ballots, food stamps, school related documents etc. Private translators can be hired at the expense of those who need them. That, or the folks can learn English. |
