I have never been to America and hope to visit in the not too distant future.

If I were to live there I would like the State of New Hampshire.

I am talking about a holiday visit.

Housing cost is HIGH...
Property tax is HIGH...
There are many fees in the state of New Hampshire...
Winter there is COLD, at times, brutal, as is the case with all New England states....
Seasons are beautiful....Very....
People are friendly but territorial...It will take a while to become one with them, be accepted...

If you choose NH, you will need "deep" pockets and warm clothing...and a very good car!laugh
Be prepared to spend lots of money on eating expense too.....and booze, if you drink .....

If you don't like cold weather, come to the Sun Belt (the southwestern region). Be warned that the summers are VERY hot, especially here in southern AZ. Avoid California...a nutty place and an economic disaster. noway

Right. Holiday/vacation are the same, which is what I was saying. It seemed that people were telling you were to live. laugh

California is fun. Beaches, mountains, big cities.. depends on what you like.

Like any "big city" America has just about anything you are looking for.

So what are you looking for?

Fun in the sun?

Night life?

Shopping?

Scenery?

Hunting/fishing?

Golf?

Food?

America is a BIG country. How much time do you have?

It takes longer than that to drive across the many vistas of Texas!

I've always loved the south east coast, I plan on moving to Texas though, I'm sure I'll like it out there even more.

Just don't come up into northeast Ohio, this is probably the worst part of the country.

You could try San Diego, CA. I lived there a couple of years and the climate is wonderful. Food and fuel are expensive but since it is a holiday visit it's not like you'll be there forever.

The beach water is cold but you can walk on the sand (not hot like Texas, but in Texas the water is warm and you don't freeze either). Never been to Florida but going one day!

It would be a tough choice for me, the beauty of Colorado versus the fun of the beach.
