Dear Diary,
Wow! What a night. Got to work a little early and there must have been four firetrucks and a lot of firefighters in full dress all over the nursing home. One of the firefighters was directing traffic and had me take an alternate route to get into the nursing home. Another firefighters who is also a CNA ran up to me and gave me a hug. Said, "Hon, you will have to go to the upper section and knock on the glass door." The nurse ran up to the door and said you can't clock in. She was on the phone with the administrator. The CNA had told me that the firetrucks had been there for three hours because a gas leak was detected in the kitchen down in rose wing. I thought it was christmas there were so many flashing lights going off. Firefighters checking every door on the facility to make sure they were close. Found out that they main doors between blue and green wings automatically close when the fire alarm is pulled. Got to see the owner of the building and the top boss himself. Didn't even know who he was. He was asking for some coffee for the firefighters and I said, "Sure, we have some coffee." Nurse had to tell me who he was. I felt like such a dumb ass. This stuff just doesn't happen around here. I thought the fire alarm would never quit. Finally when it was over the maintenance man was asking me for a light. I said, "You got to be joking. A light during a gas leak." He said, "No, the firetrucks are gone and I just need to reset the pilot light for the oven in the kitchen." Nurse was going into a fit since she had had a smoke for five hours. Sure was nice when everything was back to normal. We all had a sigh of relief.

I have no plans for the weekend.... a huge list of things I could/should take care of... *yawn* and yet.. all I wanna do is crawl back into bed and snooze a bit more... *yawn*
