Looking at the post and the poster in context is looking like somebody handing out the hymn sheets to the choir and then singing from a totally different one.

I'm not going to get into the middle of who's right or who's wrong here. All I know is that virtually everyone on this thread has made an attack or derogatory comment about another member at some point, not just Spidercmb. Who's truly innocent in that regard? And at least Spidercmb is trying to do something about it by bringing up the point that we should be focusing on the message, not the messenger.

My only point in posting on this thread was to clarify what our rules would define as an attack on another member. Let's leave it at that. There are a ton of great posters on this site, Spidercmb being one of them, that have valuable insights that you can learn from even if you don't agree with them. But that's only possible if you have a true dialogue with each other, not an argument, and to do that requires an effort on both sides regardless of past differences.

What do you mean, he deactivated LW!!?? What does that mean?? Has it come down to; if someone does not like what we say or stand for...that they have control to deactivate someone?? What is this Grade school? Oh oh oh oh oh oh. It may be time to leave.

I'm concerned about something you said earlier in this thread, about "attacking" someone's post. Some people, myself included, talk about 'attacking' others words, other's posts, and what we mean is to critique, to argue against, to question. It doesn't mean that we have negative feelings, or are trying to hurt somebody. Just like you said, its okay if people 'debate' other's posts, and thats what we mean by 'attack'.

So I'm wondering if this is just a 'word choice' thing - maybe we are in agreement about debating, but you prefer not to use the word 'attack'. Or, do you feel that when some people debate, they are to aggressive? And I don't mean 'name calling', I mean when people are actually debating the topic - maybe you find people do it too aggressively?

I saw on here earlier the word "attack" being used. I have seen attacking done many times. But...To me attack means to insult, call names, make trouble or belittle ones words, or thoughts or person.

I am one of the first to love a challenge of thought. To have discussion of or about a topic. As long as it is done in good order. But, to tell someone they are blatently wrong or stupid is wrong in itself. Does that help??
