Today I threw out my printer that stopped working and a small broiler that I never used and three or four bags of trash.

My room/office is cluttered. I really need to work on that.

I will tell you Jeannie, since I flooded the condo and have been living with most of my belongings packed. All I really miss is my kitchen stuff, my DVDs, my CDs, and my beloved books. The rest just seems like total crap now and it's being gotten rid of.

Yes, I have a file cabinet full of stuff and I don't even know what is in it. I have a store front full of a bunch of stuff.

Most of it is crap I don't use.

I donate what's useful and I don't need, and pitch the rest. That said, most of my stuff is in storage, and I haven't touched it. Paperwork is my biggest problem.

My books, and book list are pristine, however, LMAO! I'm very OCD on them!

Section everything off into small areas. Start with one area at a time. It's easier to do a small space at a time than trying to wrap your mind around a whole house full of stuff.

Build a bonfire if you can and just start hauling stuff out to burn.

Please do not just throw it out. There is a web site that you join for free. The mission of this site is to keep useable things out of landfills. It is called freecycle.com. You have to look for the one that is closest to where you live and then you join. It is all free. You post what you have to dispose of and folks will come and take it away for you. Even broken printers. Just let them know it is broken. I had some lady pick up my broken printer last week.

That is a good technique. I started with my bathroom today.

The rule of thumb I've always heard is, if you haven't used it for a year, throw it out.

That would not work for me. I bought a pair of snow shoes after a real bad snow storm. I kept them for 5 years and did not use them. This year they came in very handy because I needed them to walk across a snow drift to get to my Dad who need my help.
