My neighbor (whom I've named IDIOT) was up late last night and somehow he stumbled into my yard and bumped into my truck, setting off my alarm. I went out there and gave him some choice words and told him to be on his way BUT, I guess because he was drunk, he decided to mouth off. I didnt want to beat the hell outta him for the fact that he was drunk so I grabbed him by the arm and walked(dragged) him back to his house.

I'm curious though. If this happens again, and he decides to be a punk again, should I be as nice as I was last night? I mean, I have no idea if he will do it again but I cant help but think about the situation just in case it does.

to reduce youself to his drunken level, makes you as bad as him.

Better to wait until he is sober, invite him over for a coffee and then tell him he was acting like a jerk.

That way then you make a friend and if you one day come home drunk, he will remember you were the better man, when he was wasted.

How well do you get along with him when he is not drinking? Do you think he would do something to retaliate against you if you had to call the police on him?

These are just a couple things that you need to consider if you want to remain in good terms with your neighbor. Do some serious thinking, then act accordingly.

You sought advice and found it within the 2 posts above me...up to you now to follow it....always show that you in fact are the better man. Its the only way to go on about life.

People can get pretty crazy especially if they are drunk, depressed or on crack, heroin, morphine, oxycontin, or methamphetimines...whether legal or not...
there are some pretty powerful drugs floating around...

If he is up all night, that might be a good indicator of insane, crazy indulgences or mental illness....

If all he did was bump into your truck,
you are lucky, even though it makes you upset...

Call the cops and make an anonymous report...
if they are not too busy, they usually love to be able to have the chance to run a check on someone with shady behavior...

That's what they get paid for and went to police academy for..

I think most cops I've run into, are pretty awesome...
don't hesiate to use them for assistance...

Yeah thats another reason I posted this. He is a pretty moronic individual to begin with and he is the type of person that would probably decide (when drunk) that it would be fun to mess with me. I'm not much into calling the cops cause well, they take too long to get out here in the boonies.
Its a pain cause I cant really do anything cause if I do, I will be the one getting in trouble with the police. Ahh bad neighbors.... There is always one blah.

just be thankful u don't live in a college town... people running up and down the road... horns honking... the guys next door having parties at all hours of the night.... so go hav a beer with ur neighbor... and be thankful
