80's where my high school years...

I was a bit more punk and metal...

Slayer "Angel of Death"

Sacred Reich "Surf Nicuragua"

Dead Kennedy's "Too drunk to F***"

I also dug Cindy Lauper, the Go Go's, Duran Duran, Frankie goes to Hollywood, Ted Nugent, Kiss, Billy Idol, Ac/Dc, Ozzy Osbourne's debut album, Mettalica's "Kill 'em all", Black Crowes, Morris Day and the Time, Run DMC, Anthrax

80's music had alot of suck @$$ bands...poison, winger, stryper, def leppard...don't get me started.

All in all it it had it's moments.

I'm a 90's kid, but preferred a lot of the 80's stuff. Metallica went right downhill after the 80's. frustrated frustrated brokenheart

There is a new song out that I am waiting for the Bangles to nail them over because the beginning is the same exact beginning as "Walk Like an Egyptian". Remember when "Ice Ice Baby" got nailed for being the same as "Under Pressure"? So Vanilla Ice had to pay Queen.

Totally forgot The Smithereens, the first time I heard them was when they appeared in a party scene in Troma's Class Of Nuke 'em High.

And there was The Art of Noise putting Industrial music on the map too.

There are a lot of overrated bands from the '80s. Krupa mentioned a few, but I could also include bands like Loverboy and Survivor.

But does any song capture the decade better than Nina's "99 Luft Ballons"?

That....was too much '80s. Now I feel like Van Gogh ripping my ears off.

I think I'm scarred for life now.

And though it was late 70s very early 80s, god only knows how many hours I spend on my jogging trampoline bouncing around to "The Best of Blondie".

I met Debra Harry when I was working at Baxter and we were closing and they used the building for a Tales from the Crypt. I was very very very very disappointed like when I met the woman from Til Tuesday while working at Magic Mountain. Both were strung out and paranoid. I prefer NOT to met anyone I admire. It's always such a let down.

Ditto for Edie Brickell.

It was nigh impossible to conduct the radio interview given the state she was in.

Interviewing Dan Quayle would have been more fun....but I guess he wasn't listening to my station when he was in the area.

I'm with you on all of those. I'd have to add Alien Sex Fiend, Echo and the Bunnymen, Gerad Mcmann (he did the theme for Lost boys.) and probably more I'm not thinking of. Oh and Kraftwerk. Oh how I loved and still love Kraftwerk.
