How are we to know what days God made the world in 6 days, rested on the 7th, and blessed the 7th day. How do we know he didn't start on what we call Tuesday. God worked 6 days and rested on the 7th. Most celebrate Sabbath on Sunday, but if you look at the calender the week starts on Sunday, only in our Society is it Monday - Friday, then the weekend is Sat and Sun, making Sunday the last day. And is why 7th day Adventist do their Sabbath on Saturday, it's either 7th day Adventists or Pentecostals that do or even possibly both lol. I personally don't believe the Sabbath is specifically any day Monday - Sunday, as long as we take just one day out of our busy week to focus on God alone. No purchasing, no selling, just focused on God to praise and thank our father for everything he has done for us and everyone else in the world. |

He kept the Sabbath..and the Jews if thiers one thing the Priests made sure of is when the sabbath was kept and Yahshua kept it the same as they did as far as the day goes.. so if you are to do as he did then why not keep the Saturday sabbath? |

That is WHAT the REST FOUND IN HIM ,MEANS. We are going on GOD'S Strengh..no longer on our own strength. When we are weak, we are strong....cause we are STRONG in JESUS ..cause we FINALLY have let go of trying to do it on our own. That is the beautiful Rest found in Jesus. I actually prefer to go to Mass on any day except Sunday to avoid the crowds. Unfortunately, weekday Masses are usually at times when I have to be at work.

The core meaning of Sabbath all in all is rest. And is why Jesus is our Sabbath, for he bore our sins so we would not have to. We wouldn't have to "work" at receiving forgiveness eg., Sacrifice.

Is not Prophecy pointing to Yahweh's timeline of his return? Yahshua comes when? at the beginning of the Sabbath as 1 day is as 1000 years to Yahweh. The 7th thousand year. a 1000 years of rest. all these point to who you worship.. The sabbath was made for man. What man? Jesus is Lord over the sabbath.
Yes Miles...even over the Sabbath... Jessu IS our Sabbath rest now , after we become born again. And EVERY day is Holy unto the Lord now..not just one..there is a CCNTINUAL REST in Jesus now.... That was why Jesus healed on the sabbath....and the pharisees and saducees had a hissy fit....becase they did not know who He realy was.. that He was God with us ...and Lord even over the sabbath...Lord over all.. and now ALLLLL the law and the prophets hang on these 2 commandments now, that Jesus gave: Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and mind and soul... Love thy neighbor as thyself. Thses 2 commandments FULFILL ALL the law and the prophets...incuding keepin the sabbath. God's law is now written on the tablets of a born again christian's heart...cause God reside in our heart..the same God who is Lord over all.....even the sabbath. EVERY DAY in Jesus is our Sabbath rest now. Not just one day only. |

We are not under law but under grace now.
Again....The law is written on the tablets of the born again believers heart now. God's love is in our heart now..... we love God and our neighbor becasue of Gods' Love in us now.... and therefore,we won't want to displease or disobey God or harm our neighbor... and we have a REST in Jesus now. Jesus says," Enter into My REST." Amen. |

This is probably the best verses to explain if we are still held under the "Sabbath" laws. But then again, this is not specifically for money or anything, this is for food for hungry people in specifics. Further reading and studying needs to be done to know if this is ment for the specifics or if it was just because they were hungry and weren't doing it specifically for money.
